The script writers and dialogue coaches just sucked, and what good footage they did get wasn’t used (there is proof, look for the deleted scenes). Kristen Stewart had a whole acting career before Twilight (Speak, Zathura, Panic Room…), and Robert Pattinson was relatively new to acting at the time (his first film role, as I recall, was in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). He later proved that he had great range with other films, including one where he’s an old timey lighthouse keeper, Batman, and fairly recently he did a voice acting role. Plus, as stated, both hated the movies. Experience Pattinson, nobody hates Edward Cullen and Twilight more than he does. I don’t have exacts on Stewart, but I’d be pissed too if my previous, and other work was disregarded because of a single film franchise.
