Picture it, that knight creeping up to the dragon hiding behind his polished shield, thinking he's out witting the dragon. Daenaerys dragons are dreamfyre's eggs which she laid during princess rhaena's time around 50 AC. After princess rhaena's death in 73 AC, she stayed in the dragonpit in king's landing until she eventually chose her next rider during viserys reign, who was princess Helaena who is rhaenyra's younger half sister. Helaena began riding dreamfyre by age 11. Although Helaena is probably not a good character in House of the Dragon.

I wish they would make the Dragon Keepers look like they're supposed to in the books, black armor with dragon teeth or scales (I don't remember which) running down the back. Being a Dragon Keeper was a big deal, they're were 77 of them. As they are now, they look more like dirty beggars than dragon keepers. And what the heck are the sticks for? Wooden sticks? To herd dragons? Really?!

In the show Dragon Keepers are loosely based on Ramses II royal horses grooms/stable master, they more like a priest/servant of gods because all Pharaoh declared themselves as god and all their properties including their ride should treated on spiritual level. I kinda like this adaptation because Targryen are basically a foreign rulers, make sense their tradition are different not having a servant "constable" to take care their ride. 😁

I thought Rhaegal and Viserion having little personality was due to a combination of the story and poor writing. For instance Drogon is clearly the leader of the little pack and so it makes sense that his siblings kind of fade to the background. Plus Drogon is Danys favorite so story wise we don’t see her interact with Rhaegal and Viserion much (at least in the show, I can’t speak on the books yet) and on top of that she chained Rhaegal and Viserion while Drogon got to be free. It would make sense that Rhaegal and Viserion didn’t get the chance to develop in more than just physicality since it would probably be boring as heck living in a glorified hole in the ground, your personality is partly how you are naturally and your world experiences. This all makes sense on its own but I also think D&D couldn’t/didn’t think of the dragons as actual characters themselves, and instead used them more so as plot devices so they never bothered to write scenes of Rhaegal and Viserion having personality.

The books will most likely do them more justice. Where the books left off the dragons are no longer together as a trio, D&D simply couldn’t come up with better writing rather than having them be Drogon’s sidekick. No Targayen in history has had more than one dragon following them around. Viserion and Rhaegal on the pyramids of Meeren will most likely have their own story from now on.

They got loose and each has a nest on a different pyramid, occasionally swooping down and killing people. No Targ has ever controlled more than one dragon, Dany isn’t different, they were just babies being raised by her.

Yeah idk why people think Syrax is a older than she is. Rhaeynera first rode Syrax at 7. If the egg was in her cradle Syrax would also be 6/7. That’s a perfect amount of time for a dragon to become rideable. Moondancer was 5, Stormcloud was 9 so Syrax being 7 makes perfect sense.

In the book she only raised them during their earlier years until she chained them at the pyramid. Now she’s off with Drogon somewhere and the other two are loose on Meereen, so anything can happen, Daenerys is only bonded with Drogon. Edit: The show left the books at season 5 so they didn’t know how to write anything more interesting with the dragons than keeping them at Dany’s side. I think Rhaegal and Viserion are more so following Drogon than Daenerys herself since she’s riding him.

Adult Targaryens likely would be the only ones to witness their mating, as they will likely do a mating dance then find a secluded place to actually mate. It's like Elvis and Top Gun: Maverick for me this year in movies. Far and away my favs. Riding Caraxes and Syrax helps adds to their swag. We still haven't seen enough characters yet. Like Aegon II might finally be born by Ep 3 but is still a child. And it seems Helaena is a popular one with the greens by book fans. She's the one riding Dreamfyre which I can't wait to see next to Sunfyre. I can imagine Alicent moving way up once the beautiful, Olivia Cooke, takes over. One-eyed Aemond is another important member from the greens. We still haven't seen Laenor 🖤, Laena's brother. I believe he'll appear in Ep 3. Many GOT/HOT D reactors are Black people. Good to see them get more represented. We do see Laenor in the trailers and he's chatting with his cousin, Rhaenyra, along a beach. 💒 It's ironic. Otto Hightower would be my #1 for most hated character on HOT D by a wide-margin. He's despicable. He's the one I want to see die first. He's the real villain to all this. But he would also rank in my top 3 for favorites because I like bad characters if the acting is great and Rhys is great. To me, Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans really carry this show. The rivalry between Daemon vs. Otto carries this show. They enjoy trolling each other. It's the best so far until older Rhaenyra vs. older Alicent go at it. I'll admit, HOT D does feel smaller in scope due to we are only following fewer Houses. But I don't mind it. Easier to follow. A lot of my character rankings can change from each season. That's why we need to keep watching. Who knows if I start HATING Daemon and Rhaenyra by Season 5? Maybe Alicent is my favorite by the end? They will all do bad things and they will all die. The End. Off to that next GOT spin-off with more sex, graphic violence, incest, pedophilia, pimping children, parents killed by their children, parents or relatives killing children, and grey characters you either love or hate or love AND hate at the same time.

Most likely, there's not enough dragons to breed after and the gene pool became narrow - or as conspiracy theories go - done by maesters.

You don't understand how magic works in the real world, our world Wicca for example, to cast a spell you have to be completely certain with no doubt in your mind that your spell will work. If that spell is cast on someone else they too must believe it will work or it won't work. The rules of magic are no different in Westeros, as the Targayans strong will disappeared the dragons got smaller and smaller until they all died out. The Targayans failed to hatch any dragon eggs in the end because they became so weak willed. It wasn't until Bloodraven was born that the Targayans magic started to manifest properly again. Then Rhagar, Daenerys and John where born and Dragons returned with them.

He didn't commit it but ordered it like Tywin ordered for the Red Wedding to happen with Walder Frey. Rhaenyra becomes terrible at the end. Yet, at this moment, Daemon and Rhaenyra are by far the most popular characters after only two episodes. This might change as time goes on. With Daemon, I expect him to do some nasty stuff. The World of Ice and Fire identify these creatures as "Dragons". Four legged version of them simply don't exist in that world, meaning that they don't have that distinction. This is basically how it works for every story; if it's called a dragon it's a dragon. We might have our dumb self described tags for what is what but ultimately a story decides what things are called in it's world, not us.

Genuine question why do you refer to ‘female’ dragons as “she-dragons” but male dragons as just “dragon”? Why separate the two as if they aren’t both dragons? Dragon is an umbrella term. Any large reptile can be called a dragon wether they be 2 legged, 4 legged, even no legged. Eastern dragons don’t even have wings and some cultures depict dragons as large serpentine reptiles.

There are like 17 different dragons all with different models, colours, movement, personalities etc while rhaegal and viserion were basically carbon copies of drogon but smaller. Not to mention the budget isn't THAT much bigger for HoTD. So no they didn't 'skimp' on the cgi
