Kevin Freitas The "food" at 7/11 where I live can hardly be called Mexican food. It is processed garbage. From the week old hot dogs rotating to the frozen burritos you can microwave it's all nasty.

I love to watch you guys do the tastings. You should get the same kind from 7-11, Family Mart and Lawson and taste them all at the same time. Or do a blind tasting. Do the common flavors that they all seem to have. That would be fun!
@thepotters8888 жыл бұрын
I wish they sold onigiri in America.
@vanessa26archer8 жыл бұрын
Yeah we probably have to go to a restaurant that serves them or something haha, which I'm sure is rare. The only place I've have them was at a street fair that happens every friday. They have all different kinds of food vendors, and they used to have a delicious onigiri vendor, but I haven't seen them in a long time :( They also have a hawaiian vendor there that sells spam musubi. That's probably the only place we could find them, like a food fair or farmers market, or maybe even an asian market! We could also make them ourselves which would be delicious.
@cookingforfatguys84218 жыл бұрын
They aren't too difficult to make yourself at home, and you can even buy some simple rice molds to help make them more easily. They may not look as pretty until you have a bit of practice making them, but they'll still taste every bit as amazing. =)

It's nice to hear that each of the three chains onigiri differ from one another meaning that they're not being pumped out by some mega factory. You guys did a great job comparing the different flavours, filling sizes and rices. It's also very considerate of you to mention the price of each individual item which I know people appreciate. New sub here and look forward to more videos while I watch the old ones!

I love your videos! The onigiri tasting videos are making me crave onigiri! Growing up, I remember eating onigiri that had hijiki mixed in. Also, onigiri that had miso tuna in the middle. Since I can't go to my local store, I guess I am going to have to make some. Umeboshi and Miso tuna onigiri sounds perfect for dinner! Thank you both for the wonderful videos! I also love the little dance Satoshi does when he tries something delicious. 😁

Love these Onigiri taste tests!! In Okinawa we only have Family Mart and Lawsons so we miss out on 7-11's yummy food. We each (in my family) have favorites at both stores. I prefer the niniku onigiri at Family mart, and my daughter prefers the wok fried rice with and without kimchi at Lawsons. My husband likes the pork and chicken ones at both places. I also agree that the tuna mayo at Lawsons is best. Thanks for the fun video!

Thanks for these. If you ever do _another_ onigiri test, you might want to give an explanation of why the crisp nori stays crisp -- there's an extra layer of plastic, between the nori and the moist rice -- and why you therefore have to be careful pulling the #2 and #3 corners out to the side. I ripped a couple of nori wrappers before I figured that out. Also, a knife and cutting board would simplify splitting them....
