Tadasana, the standing pose in Yoga serves as a basic position for many Yogasanas.
To perform Tadasana, stand erect with feet close together. Tighten and pull up the knee caps. Stretch up the spine with stomach in and chest forward. Keep the arms by the side of the thigh with palms stretched open. In this posture the body weight is equally distributed on both feet.
Tadasana helps overcome the deformities that might be caused due to habitual standing in the wrong position.
