Love your simple approach to carp fishing GP. No messing about with all the guff; Chods, spods, Ronnie’s… all manufactured by the tackle companies to get you to spend more… keep it simple and put fish on the bank. Love it. Thanks

I definitely got on here first. I wonder if I am demographically a typically Graeme fan. Fished my whole life, in various places but love canal fishing. The first season, summer of 76, canals became streams, streams dried up, Pike on a single maggot but, it got me and the Pike hooked. Since then, years of inactivity (life) and short bursts of as much fishing as I could cram. Memories of a 6-hour trip from Dover to a wreck, fishing for Ling, Conger, Cod, and Pollock. 1000lbs of fish in the back of an electricity board van and a Conger, we thought was dead, running amok in the back of the van as it escaped from the bag. Fishing an Electricity Board match, with my Father in Law at Ardleigh Reservoir, where there was ardly any fish (only match I ever fished), not interested in match fishing. Telescopic rod to every holiday location for 20 years, last few trips: Barbados, where I have lived for 20 years, many a day trying to catch Peacock Bass and catching Cyclid and Talapia instead, Florida where the first cast bought me a 10lb Barracuda in brackish water. Intercoastal where a circular hook, 100lb braid on a 50lb line, hooked either a ray or a grouper, possibly a Bull Shark and fought it for only three minutes before I lost it, never saw the fish. The fact is, I love fishing, love watching fishing, don't give a rat's whatsit whether I catch or not. I enjoy living my fishing life vicariously through GP and Smiff, long may it continue. Give me a bank, BBC radio 5-live on gently in the background, a pack of Mr. Kipling Bakewell Tarts, a flask of tea and a gentle breeze and, happy or what. Tight lines crap, the excitement never dies but, I get just as much from watching a Heron, motionless on a bank, in front of a Bramble in bloom. Moving back to the UK and, can't wait to throw out a line, 10' Lightweight Avon style, old fashioned quill style float, two red one white and sit back. Only change down the years, backache and arthritis but apart from that, I am the same 13-year-old boy I was in 1976..... Fish On!!!!!

Fishing where I do in such huge waters, I've learned to love ground bait. Since I can't possibly go to the fish, it's best time bring them to me. Bran, sweet corn, oats and bread crumbs plus sometimes I add in a packet of Jell-O for additional flavor. I've learned a lot from you sir. the liquid is the liquid you add to boilie mix when make your own boilies. plus you can grind the boilies down to powder and add the liquid to the powder and pop into mesh pva and make a pva stick, so got "groundbait" around your boilie but get all the goodness you get in the boilies. them 15mm wafters match up to a size 6 hook if want the hook sat on its point or match with a size 4 hook the hook will lay flat with the wafter just above it. they are designed to weigh less so when a carp sucks up the bait the wafter flys in easier than a normal boilie. tight lines Graham.

Breadcrust on my local lake lasts about 5 seconds before the mallards and moorhens have it all. Bread is by far my favourite bait and I never buy fancy flavoured rubbish from tackle shops. Its a big money making business designed to catch anglers more than fish. Years ago I used to add a little aniseed flavouring to bread paste. Thats all. Caught fish in the 50s and 60s and will still catch a lot of fish now! Love watching your bankside cookups though.

@@TAFishing - thanks for your great videos, I'm always watching The Totally Awesome Fishing Show. Interesting to see you/Todbor using the CCMoore Pacific Tuna. I know you're one for focusing on the fishing and not the spending of money on tackle or bait but Pacific Tuna is one of my main go to baits when fishing for bigger carp and does really well. Interesting, the CCMoore are one of the limited number of companies who will roll their flavours in dumbell shapes and not just the standard spherical boilie. If it's a little different it might give the edge. On another note, my wife and I have just bought our new house which comes with a 1 acre stocked fishing lake. It was only ever used privately by the previous house owner who dug it about 8 years ago. Having been neglected it's going to take about 2-3 years to bring it back up to standard and make it look pretty. The intention will be to put one or two log cabins at the far end away from our house, and let them out as secluded fishing retreats... ...If you're even in North Lincolnshire/Humberside!

Another great video- how to catch fish using a simple but always very effective approach. Just wondered that when the 2 anglers moved in next to you so you the cast straight ahead towards the island, did you do any of that 'leading around' to check the bottom etc? Don't think i've ever seen you do that & wondered if it's not neccessary on commercials. Just 90% of other youtube anglers spend 90 mins casting around & splashing to find features. Good choice of beer too 🍺Cheers
@TAFishing2 жыл бұрын
No I don't bother leading around...I suppose I should but I'm generally on a shortish trip and don't like all that pounding with a lead weight. Fine if you are there for long sessions ,but I get bored easily which is why you never see my films covering multi day sessions in the same spot. But it does make sense on new waters.I generally just ask the ticket providers or local anglers.

@TAFishing2 жыл бұрын
I suppose putting bait boats into the same category as using drones to find fish and drop a bait onto them ? Of course it works ,but it seems to take the "fishing" part out of it. But then how would boat anglers catch fish in the sea if they never had an echo sounder ? Its a tough one to call .

I can't do that with other fishing as you have to be constantly on the ball to get a fish or two. Bivvied up,I am in one spot,I chuck a load of bait out and just wait like all the other guys. Bit like sea fishing ,except its handy when the fish hook themselves..I'm planning a couple of overnighters right now,just looking at a decent weather slot to go.
