Solar Flare makes more sense in English than Sunlight Fist. I always thought it was a huge missed opportunity that the technique didn't ALSO scramble ki sense. Like a kung fu flashbang grenade. I was so happy they finally did that in super. Krillin is flashing from the burn holes on his head

Is no one going to talk about how in Z whenever the solar flare was used, the user always got in between the sun and the enemy, as if they were simply amplifying the sun's light to blind the opponent? I always thought it was amplifying a source of light rather than generating light from the user's body.

That's really only an anime thing but also wasn't consistent like krillen and dodoria (he wasnt in-between the two). In the manga cell stayed grounded both times he used it for example. Now the use of the sun to try masking the pose I guess could be an argument but also like why would the enemy look towards the sun to begin with

What's funny is that even though it was originally Tien's technique, it's like Krillin completely took over and got the rights to it or something (then again, the Solar Flare does fit his fighting style too). Although I do like how it can blind anyone (except for Majora the U4 blind fox), which is ideal for either saving your skin in the heat of battle or evading capture. Speaking of which, I loved the 100x Solar Flare, it was so sick.

The solar-flare x 100 might be able to keep people from sensing the users energy by acting as sort of energy smokescreen. So the area being affected is so enriched with ki energy that it becomes indistinguishable from the users and feels the same. Mix that in with the ability to hide power levels and you kinda get this camouflage effect. Cool video! Really got me thinking! XD

There was some kind of "technique" from Krilin (taiyo kosen hansha if i remember correctly) in that battle with Goku in the 22nd tournament when he tries to blinds him with his head, pretty much Toriyama stuff right there XD. I always considered the Solar Flare to involve firing super-bright ki say the opponent, which is why Goku was able to outspeed it (rather than simply being faster than light). Krillin's version reinforces that belief, as 100 small, wide bursts of ki could easily interfere with somebody's ability to sense ki meaningfully.

I imagine krilin coming up with this thing durning some chase, while he was working. It raises less eyebrows, saying "they crashed becose sun got in thier eyes" rather than "oh ye , i punched engine out of thier car".

In the original series the move kind of makes sense. But using the logic of the original move, if sunglasses can make you immune, so would closing your eyes (and many characters see it coming --> fighting against cell for example). But much more important: By that point of time the characters can sense the Ki. They don't fight using only their eyes anymore. If you take into account all of the story then probably they don't fight primarily using their eyes at all, but actually only using their senses. So it wouldn't matter if you are blinded or not. So cell might be able to mask his KI, being an android maybe even more than the Z Fighters... but Piccolo, Kuririn and Trunks who all know the move shouldn't be affected at all and be able to sense his KI long enough to notice the direction he is escaping to. So maybe the technique - and that's my only explanation - has been improved, by blinding much more than ones visual senses.

So with taking in all this information, it is safe to assume this move will NOT work on a cloudy/rainy day or at night? Or perhaps on a planet with no sun? I can't remember if the move was used during the tournament of power or not, but it seemed if they were in a space of no sun so it wouldn't have worked there either. But I believe you said that they are generating the solar power from within their own body/life force? If that is the case it works anywhere but when krilin did the x100 he went in front of the sun and that seemed to of helped in powering the move even further or he just went in front of it to blind gohan enough to give him the time needed to perform the attack.

I am bit curious,if we pass part where you blind your opponent with solar flare. Does it beside that,cause any physical damage to opponent ? In both this and Mafuba tehnique we can see opponents feel agonizing pain. Unlike many stronger ki blasts.

My biggest confusion is how does it not blind the user... they are still looking at the light with their unprotected eyes. Now you could argue ki blocks protects their eyes, and sometimes the user has their eyes closed (only qorka for a few examples so not an answer) . The problem is if ki can protect from the attack then it shouldn't effect most people its used on.

Then many of you're questions on here would be answered and if you study donna eden you would get the energy healing side of things, so you have the mind training from jose silva and the energy body training from dona eden, use that with youre martial arts. Youre literally doing what dbz is in real life.
