You will find that the exterior frunk skin, tailgate, fenders and quarter panels are 1.4mm thick. The doors skins are 1.8mm thick. All are laser welded to a thinner stamped stainless steel structure for support. The large quarter panels are then bolted to the upright aluminum Giga castings in the bed. Many thought the quarter panels were installed with an aviation grade structural adhesive. Tesla purposely used a bolt on design for easier collision repairs.

@boostav9 ай бұрын
@@MrDmadness No, cold working can also makes it magnetic.

@@boostav nope, it HAS to hsve iron in it, thats literally what makes anything magnetic .. iron
@boostav9 ай бұрын
@@MrDmadness You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. ALL stainless steels are primarily iron, no matter the grade. The fact it's magnetic doesn't mean it's low grade ss (ferritic), austenitic ss becomes magnetic when cold worked. Which is what Tesla is doing.

so wait......CT doesn't have a solid bed for payload at all, its just a plastic surface with a beam? Said beam runs over top an air compression and all its tubing and wiring? What if you hit a pot hole with a heavy load and this plastic surface cracks or breaks and crushes everything under it? I thought at least that back portion was solid like the concept was. I've seen the cinder block drop test but does no one worry this would lead to any issues down the road?

It needs cameras and screens on the A pillars to show the blind spots in place of the interior and exterior rear view mirrors. How much sand is sitting on the top of the battery cover under the vehicle and on all of the casting etchings? Added weight for reduced mileage.
@Xanthopteryx9 ай бұрын

Raise the vehicle to a high setting (not extraction mode) then sit a jack stand(s) under the jack point(s). After that, lower the vehicle and see if the tire(s) lift off the ground. This probably will not work because they are relying on the trucks weight/gravity to lower the vehicle; however, it the air suspension could lift the tire(s) off the ground you would not need to use a jack to change or rotate the tires. After performing this test, you might need to sit the height to extraction mode to remove the stand(s). If the tires do not rise, put a jack under the suspension of one wheel (while on the jack stand(s)) and lift that wheel/tire. This should not require much of a jack because you are not lifting the weight of the vehicle.
