I truly appreciate Dr. Pitre's biblical interpretations. I've found that despite all of my efforts to understand the scripture, he lays it all out in comprehendible terms. Thanks, Doc!

Thankyou Dr. Pitre. Your reading from Kings recalled for me a W.B. Yeats quote: "Be not inhospitable to strangers, lest they be angels in disguise." (an adaptation of Hebrews 13:2)

Thank you so much for this. I've always wanted to know the reason why we need to show special kind of respect to the priests and nuns. In PH, it's normal for us to receive priests and nuns as if they are the most special persons in the community. Whenever we have feasts or parties, priests and nuns are always given the special table and sitted together with politicians and the affluent . And parties will not start if they are not yet around. Or if they are late, the bestest food is reserved for them. Or if they miss to come, we send them loads of foods - head of the roasted pig, maybe. But with increasing secularism and protestantism and modern atheism in the community, we are mocked for doing so. Now I know which verses I should use to defend this practice :)

Thank you Dr. Pitre. Your series have really helped me questioned and understand/enrich my Catholic faith. I understand "taking up the Cross" as being responsible for the consequences ("good" or "bad") of the choices we make in life as life evolves. We are given free-will to make choices and live with the consequences that come with the choices. When Jesus said, "Take up your cross and follow Me", I think He meant we have a choice to follow Him or not. If we decide to follow Him, live with the choice; which may mean being persecuted. If we decide not to, there are other consequences; live with those. Regarding the part about loosing one's life and finding it in Christ, I think it is about not being static but keep adapting and accepting the consequences of the choices (for even after finding life in Christ, we are in a state of having found life and we need to let it go and move on - we cannot build a tent and stay in Mt Tabor). I think Dr. Pitre is spot on about suffering. Suffering happens when we struggle against reality (what God has willed?). When we go with God's will (reality?) we make the choice to adapt and move on.

For me taking up the cross means offering it up, the good, the bad and the ugly of life. I accept and welcome it all including when God has answered my prayers with a NO or NOT YET. It is all part of my personal cross that I carry in this life. All too often we are enthusiastic to participate in the Blessings of the Resurrection of Christ but we don't want to participate in the Passion of the Suffering of Christ. Some of us put our cross in the garage and forget about it until Easter or Christmas, then we drag it out, dust if off and carry it around for a few days and then return it back to the garage. Some of us carry our crosses every day. We are all at different stages of our salvation journey, the most important part to remember is that WE ALONE are responsible for our salvation. We are also responsible for instilling the faith in our children and God-children, we will answer for how we have carried out that responsibility. The Church has provided us with the map, we just have to follow it and not get caught up in the politics and tinsel which is designed to infect us with doubt.

I'd just imagine if Jesus would say "Unless you carry your cross and follow Me, you're not worthy of Me" in His pitiful state wearing the crown of thorns carrying that same cross He had spoken about, how many would still be Christians? That's the Second Station of the Way of the Cross: Jesus taking up His cross after He was condemned by Pilate.

So if you are persecuted and humiliated and mocked in life accept this as Christ did. You can endure and accept many small crosses in your life for the love of Christ. Know that Christ Will always be there with you.

*You* *either* *serve* *God,* *or* *give* *in* *to* *the* *folly* *of* *men* Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, 21:15 My dearly beloved daughter, the betrayal of Me, Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, is rampant amongst those who say they serve Me. Even those who say they are My loyal servants have deserted Me and their faith is but just a glimmer of its former state. What began with a love and compassion for Me, has been reduced to a fraction of what it was before and this has been caused by many things. So much disdain for My Church came about because of fallen souls within it who were led into grave sin. Many innocent sacred servants of Mine suffered because of the sins of others, and this brought them great shame. Then, when the Laws of God were pushed to one side and barely spoken about, many forgot that the Commandments of God had to be upheld at all costs. If My sacred servants stopped preaching the Truth, and dismissed the importance of addressing the existence of sin, how then could God’s children be any the wiser? My sacred servants have a moral duty to uphold the Word of God and to warn God’s children about the danger of sin. But this, they have decided not to do. Many are afraid to preach the Truth for fear of being persecuted by those who will blame them for the sins of others. *During* *My* *time* *on* *earth* *I* *never* *hesitated* *to* *preach* *about* *the* *punishment,* *which* *man* *will* *face* *lest* *he* *seeks* *God’s* *forgiveness* *for* *his* *sins.* Fear of God’s punishment should not be the reason to avoid sin but only so that you, the sinner, can be saved. *Sin* *is* *something* *you* *have* *to* *live* *with* *but* *you* *must* *never* *accept* *it.* *You* *must* *fight* *it* *for* *I* *desire* *to* *save* *your* *souls.* Why would I not desire to save your souls, whatever the cost? Did I not suffer for you and die an agonising death on the Cross so that you could be redeemed in God’s Eyes? Why then do My sacred servants not preach about the absolute necessity to seek eternal life? If you do not seek Eternal Life, then you will not find it. It is the duty of all those who serve Me to help save man from eternal damnation. The Truth has been hidden for so long that many souls, due to their complacency, have been lost to Me. Know that I will send forth My Angels on the last day and that man will be divided into two halves - those who have committed atrocities and those who are of Me. I ask you, My sacred servants, to tell the Truth for if you do not, then you will lose Me many souls and for that I will never forgive you. *You* *either* *serve* *God,* *or* *give* *in* *to* *the* *folly* *of* *men.* Your Jesus Note: This is a paragraph of the reading: 《The Book of Truth》 You can find The Book of Truth here: www.jesushabla.org/book-of-truth This Book was foretold in the Bible: Daniel 10, 21 and Revelation 5, 1-9 *μαραναθα*

If your not willing to stand up for truth and righteousness, and to stand against the powers and principalities of this world who oppress and control man through temptations and desires of worldly things your not standing with christ and what he stood for. This was his sacrifice, he knew the consequences yet continued in hopes that the peoples would see the truth, and it proved that the majority would fight for this world and is controlling rulers, to make matters worse the world rather believe in the death, the cross and spilling Jesus's blood before seeing the meaning of his life and the message. Having faith and believing in a sacrifice and spilling blood is the worshipping of moloch. Wake up and repent.

Take up your cross...but not if you'll get fired doing it. Gotta love the way Pitre plays it safe. Don't rock the barque. Lol! Priests stopped visiting the homes of their parishioners 60 years ago. Is Pitre living in a bubble that envelops seminaries? I'd be lucky to get my pastor to give me the time of day. How about them showing us hospitality????? Our homolobby bishops and milquetoast priests haven't taken up the cross; they've rolled over and died as witnesses to Christ. That's why there are currently 6.5 Catholics leaving Catholicism for 1 joining it. The average parish produces 1 vocation every 50 years, and even then he's likely to be gay!! Pitre and Bishop Barron continue to play it safe, even though Catholicism will soon be outlawed as per the last SCOTUS decision on the mandatory acceptance of practicing homosexuality - in and out of the Church.
