Interestingly enough I had my DNA tested with The DNA Company. I have an abnormal gene (SLC30A8) which influences how zinc is transported in the body. I have had hair, skin, blood sugar and immune issues for years. Traditional medicine only wants to treat the symptoms and rarely tries to determine the cause I have always eaten a very healthy diet but with a small dose of zinc my problems have improved. Seriously, when is the last time anyone went to their physician and their zinc levels were checked? We need to change our model from treatment of disease to prevention

At the same time, my body had a lot of inflammation which resulted in severe pain. I started taking zinc but not for my hair, for sleep. I noticed how my inflammation went away and my hair stopped falling out as well. When I stopped taking zinc, the symptoms returned. When I started back on the zinc, again the symptoms went away. Also, I've read that a zinc deficiency can increase production in pro-inflammatory cytokines.

I now have this on my face and it's really quite bothersome. So I was thinking about it today, as I am going to see a Dermatologist next month. Quite randomly and totally out of the blue I just got this thought 'Take Zinc.' Now you gotta bear in mind I haven't the foggiest clue what Zinc does or even what foods to find it in. It was so bizarre. So low and behold I googled Zinc and Skin Conditions and was shocked to find out the benefits related to what I believe I have. Does zinc work for acne keloids?
@hardcandy712878 ай бұрын
could it be that the alopecia patients were just using the wrong type of zinc? you mentioned zinc gluconate and zinc sulfate. maybe if they took zinc bisglycinate, which is a more absorbable form of zinc, they could've had better results?

Don't you need to take copper a few hours before or after your zinc? Can't taking zinc deplete your copper?

Zinc can become deficient when we re stressed and cause premature hair greying and loss,better from diet but a multivitamin with everything when stressed is better so nothing gets knocked altho unless doctor says to take iron I wouldn't as if to high is dangerous

Years ago my derm prescribed nicotinamide for acne, which I think was zinc + niacin (and maybe copper?) is that still commonly used?
