Ray, in his short time in Star Wars, became a fan favourite and legend. It was criminal we lost such a wonderful man filled with so much talent and worldly personality. Personally, if I was Dave Filloni, I would absolutely dedicate at least one episode of "tales of the Jedi" to Baylan's story and I would go futher by doing a short season dedicated soly to Baylan. It would be a wonderfully apt tribute to Ray and the joy he brought to us Star wars fans.

I LOVE that artistic Animated rendering of Baylan Skolll. Yes, I've definitely been feeling that Baylan would be the perfect Jedi for Season 2 of TOTJ.

Hell yes. Baylan probably survived order 66 still a loyal Jedi master. Lost his padawan . He had to change as did the other Jedi survivors so they could live .

It just came to me, although I’m not sure he would do it.. Liev Schreiber. And then I go looking and it seems like many other fans also saw him as Baylan. Other actors could have that look but the natural intensity that this character needs is what made Ray so great. It wasn’t the beard, devilish looks and physicality. It was his quietness that looks down some middle path; the road not taken. I hope they expand these tales into longer stories, instead of shorts. A more complete arc.

@@realBatman-89 I think Gerard would do it well and he’d probably be open to it. Maybe someone we haven’t seen? I think that air of mystery was what made StarWars so great when it came out. I loved movies and I may have seen Alec is something but that would have been it. Everyone was kind of new and unspoiled. I hadn’t seen Harrison, Hamil, or Carrie.

Baylan didn't side or join or sign-up with the Empire, he had a deal with Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn has his own agenda and is using the Empire for his own ends while playing a good "act" leading the Empire to some successes.

Baylan didn't form an alliance with Thrawn, he was a hired as a mercenary by Morgan Elsbeth. Thrawn reminded her of this when he abandoned Baylan at the end of the series to head back to the primary galaxy. But that aside, for season 2 of Ahsoka, I'd love to see them hire Kevin McKidd to play Baylan. McKidd and Stevenson both became well-known at the same time playing a pair in HBO's Rome series, and then were reunited on-screen in Star Wars Rebels episodes. I think it'd be a fitting tribute to Stevenson and a nice handoff, assuming McKidd would feel comfortable doing it. Maybe even using McKidd's likeness in the "young Baylan" Tales of the Jedi idea you had as a way of meshing the two images.

He became disillusioned after somehow evading Order 66 i.e. after the Jedi cult was destroyed he was free to gain life experiences and realised how flawed the organisation had been - "weakness," in his own words. Thirty years later he told his apprentice that the Jedi Purge was "inevitable." He was nostalgic for the ideals of the Jedi but viewed the movement with contempt, probably because the tight structure of Temple life had been too confining for him.

It was a good choice to cover Baylan Skoll's story. He was the only true gray Jedi in the new universe. I'm also curious about his encounter with Shin Hati. In the Legends comics, there was a youngling who was discovered among those rescued during the clone wars and had to live a life on the run because of Order 66, before being taken to the Jedi Temple after being taken from her mother. If the story of Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati's encounter like this happens, it would create a logical plane for all their actions in the Ashoka series.

tbh in my eyes them just giving his backstory just a few 10min animated episodes would be criminal. Novels, comics or even videogame would be way more fitting in my eyes.

I'd like to see more about him for season 2 I would as like to see Vader finding out the truth about padmes death finding out about his children see that he was in conflict with anakin show that they really were to different beings maybe even obi-wan helping become a force ghost fill in alot gaps season would be great for that

I do not want Finn to be a jedi. I feel like with how good a pilot he is that Poe is more likely than Finn to be a jedi. Would love to see them explore Baylan’s background since we lost Ray Stevenson. But i’d prefer it be his story as opposed to him and Annakin being friends. Just focus on Baylan - his background, escaping 66, and connecting with Shin.

Lol Finn was obviously force sensitive from the very beginning. Which is why he was able to snap out of the First Orders' conditioning so early on. Poe was a great pilot because his parents were...and they had a force heavy tree that probably gave them latent force powers. I believe that Han has latent force powers too...not enough to become a Jedi, but enough to anticipate certain things better than others in the form better reflexes and reaction time

Beylan is liked by fans for being mysterious. I think it's too early to show his backstory. After Ahsoka season 2, more cards would be shown and that would allow for more to be shown in Tales. Maybe season 3, maybe season 4. But definitely not season 2. Showing too much so early can destroy that mystery of the character.

Could be nothing more than having a class or two together at Jedi Academy..or just aquaintinces from Academy. Not realistic to think EVERY famous Jedi serving The Order during Anakin's timeframe ABSOLUTELY MUST have head some grand adventure together...saving the Galaxy in the process...or some such nonsense 😮 that you so desperately and with "respect" - pathetically wish for because it would be "AWESOME", "BADASS", "COOL", "SIC" and "INTENSE!" 😂😅

I think adding Baylan Skoll in tales of the Jedi season 2 is a good idea along with Ezra Bridger, Luke Skywalker, and Rey Skywalker. I hope Finn returns as a Jedi in the new Jedi order movie and Grogu dies in the Mandalorian movie.
