One of my favourites songs in this album is 'Disciples'. It just happens to be one of those overlook songs mainly due to its short duration. But, because I tend to listen to this album very often (and Tame Impala in general) I eventually winded up loving this track very much. The change from the first 'lo-fi-ish' part to a clearer sound is fenomenal.

The weird thing about album reviews is like... you're mostly hearing what someone thinks about an album. Liking an album is not a technical thing, and this album is one of my favorite albums ever, and I have no rationale behind it. I don't even know if he's playing synths or guitars, I don't care. I don't know anything about low pass filters and production. I just like how it sounds. When he's singing I'm not thinking "he's singing falsetto." I'm just enjoying it.

Really love Currents. When I listen to music with lyrics I generally don't pay attention to words, it's nothing more than another instrument to me adding onto the grand sound. It doesn't matter that he sings about completely bullshit because it just sounds aesthetically nice. I usually prefer instrumental music over sang music but this album really does the intrumental area a good full job rather than many modern music where you can visibly hear silent cuts cuts there are so minimal instruments being used. Currents is bae

Wow, this takes a turn at 5:50. It's like he was drinking while listening, and the second half just washed over him. The last track 'New person same mistakes' is, isolated on its own, an amazing aural experience,... it's own incredible little voyage. Man I know it's hard to digest, but I think he reviewed this under a deadline and would love to revisiting it later.

Disciples is my song of the year so far. Brevity does not equal unfinished, it's a complete story. This review made me cry... No time spent talking about the stories or poetry on here which is probably Kevin's biggest progression. Also... the bridge on New Person, Same Old Mistakes is pure bliss.

Nangs is the best song I’ve ever heard in my life. Simple one line: “But is there something more than that?” with the music swelling is the reason why it is the best song on the track. Heavily underrated and simple.

I really enjoyed this album. I totally see what you mean about the vocals, but I'm of the opinion that they're not *supposed* to be an interesting centrepiece to Tame Impala songs, the hooks and interest come from the layering of those awesome psychedelic elements, drums, guitars/synths. IMO the voice should allow the music to take centre stage, and Currents lets it happen (huehuehue).

it is very annoying when you find a fellow Tame Impala fan and they sneer at you, saying "yeah I bet Currents is the only album you've heard". Yes, Currents is my favourite, but I enjoy all 3 LP's, Innerspeaker is fantastic, and Lonerism is a close second favourite. I agree with Anthony here though, Currents does feel unfinished at times, and from what I've read in interviews, Kevin feels the same, he even said that he thinks "this album will never be finished" and he thinks to this day that it's "unlistenable"

Personally, I was pleased with the change on this album. What Kevin started on Innerspeaker, he perfected on Lonerism and só he had to move on. I find every single song on this album very catchy (only like 2 arent on the same level as the others) and its a nice change of space. This album feels more acessible and relatable. Sure, it doesnt put u on that state of trance like the previous 2, but I know that if i want that, ill just go listen to Lonerism and enter that dimension. Do agree that because this a more pop album it can make u a bit bored when u reach the latter songs, specially with the dumbed down lyrics. But if u treat it like a pop, sugary record, u know the rush will end up sickening you. So treat it with 'respect' and apreciate its characteristics to the fullest. Decent to strong 7 for me.

To quote a line from this album: "They say people never change, but that's bullshit; they do." Now in comparison to Lonerism, I love currents just as much; just in a different way. Lonerism felt more nostalgic to me while dealing with issues such as being an outcast and unrequited love. While, Currents felt more futuristic and almost swapped roles of ( Kevin I'm assuming being the one breaking hearts). Different experiences cause for different sounds and I totally dig it.

This album changed my life when it came out and continues to do so. I still love Lonerism more, and that's saying something about Tame Impala. I was your typical 70s progressive rock nerd back then, and this album proved to me pop music can be just as meaningful, progressive, complex and introspective. And opened me up to so much new music. I was already a Lonerism fan when this album dropped, but unlike many Tame Impala fans back then who were mostly Rock people, I wasn't turned off by it. In fact on the contrary Currents turned me on to a whole new world of music. After this I got into R&B and hip hop a bit. And there was also the lyrics. These lyrics are really introspective and emotional and were very helpful to me during break ups I went through since then.

The way it wobbles around from the left and right ear while just blaring out makes me feel like my friggin' head's about to explode from psychedelic bliss. My favorite Synth Pop album of the year still goes to Neon Indian's Vega Intl. Night School, but several tracks on this album come oh so close. I found out about this album a little over a year ago in painting class. My friend was playing her music and i was wondering what the hell this sound was so I asked Siri and it was the less I know the better. I spend about a month listening to this band and God damn has it changed me! It has really helped to expand my taste and it let me love music again. I will never be the same... Thank you Tame Impala
