Tamiya 1/35 - Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär (mid) - build & diy Zimmerit

I'm building Tamiya Scale Model Kit No. 35077, a mid-Production Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär. The Tooling is from 1976 but the molding is fine for a beginner friendly scale model Kit.
The mid Production Brummbär was made between December 1943 and Mai 1944 with a volume of 76 pieces out of about 300 in total. The mid-production series has Zimmerit on it - if you don't want to deal with that challenge, the early or late version would be a better choice.
My focus was on how to deal with the need of applying Zimmerit to a scale model for the first time by myself. So the painting and weathering got a little bit back to the usage of techniques that would not be new to me.

Nice Work. I dont think id ever have the Patience to do all that zimmerit. Only thing its missing is the rusted muffler. When you broke out the pigments I was Like"ohh its muffler rusting time" lol

This kit is great fun. HobbyBoss has the former Tristar kits, they allow you to build other production dates as well - just in case you're looking for a excuse to build another. Thanks for the kind words

Wow!really impressive effort for first time zimmerit....the whole model turned out great....keep up the good work.....definitely made something out of what is a very basic kit.... would like to see you add figures to your armor....personally I don't think past politics should come into military history.

Thanks mate! I'm sure yours will turn out awesome! I do own the Tristar early (early) too, HobbyBoss is a rebox of it. There are two versions out there, an early (mid) one too. Which one do you have? Let me know when you plan on starting yours. Maybe we can coordinate that build, if you like to do so of cause. Btw, really looking forward to your MK V!

Ein schöner Kasten der Sturmpanzer..beeindruckender Stahlkoloss...Hast du Ölfarben benutzt zum Aufbringen der Rotbraunen Streifen oder habe ich mich verguckt

Hi Martin, die Rotbraunen Streifen sind Acryilfarben soweit ich mich erinnere. Hatte ,,damals" noch keine Modellbaumarken, also selbstgemischt.

Üblicherweise werde ich immer in den Osten gesteckt ; ) Deine Anfrage schmeichelt, allerdings muss ich das kategorisch ablehnen. Mir fehlt leider Zeit. Ich bin mir allerdings sicher dass Du vergleichbare Ergebnisse auch selbst erreichen kannst - da wärst Du nicht der erste der mich in kürzester Zeit überholt. Grüße Kai
