It is a great little buggy and it is my current favorite on my track. It looked like you guys were having a good time with it and the chase car was having trouble keeping up with it. I know some of that is just how hard it is to chase someone else running around in a wide open area so well done on that part. The MR is just a fun and nimble buggy and I am sure it will keep putting smile on the face of the Chief Engineer for quite a while!

​@@RCsoandso I agree it is a ugly buggy, I never liked the cars that had that jet fighter style body, but I must say the price of this kit is really good considering the performance and handling, I have a TopForce and I can see the speed and handling characteristics are very similar, for the price I think the MR blows the TT02B out the water, and tbh I'm a TT02B fan, great vid guys 👌

Buggies are a hard one looks wise, I’m not even sure these days what I’d like but the BBX keeps grabbing my attention but it’s far to expensive. In the meantime I’m a fan of this Manta Ray 😂👍

Great job on the body chief..... Looks much better than the box art silver! That's one nice handling buggy, definitely a bit of pedigree racer in there. Loving the chase car footage, and I know first hand how difficult it is driving the camera car, especially when you don't know where the front car is going! 😂 Would love to see a video on this matter, we've blu tacked an iPhone to the cabin of the camera car before, and have used a miniature gopro on board...... but there's always lots of crashes!! Looking forward to seeing that Brat body complete, all in good time! 😉 😊👍 👍

We have tried a few methods over the years, and I think this is the best so far, still needs tweaking, but with each run you have a new idea. The Manta Ray though handles so well, and it would go toe to toe with any of the more expensive buggies I’d say 👍

As for the Manta Ray comparison- Do you have a Top Force or Top Force Evo? 🤔 That would make a very interesting comparison video as they share so many of the same components! I would probably say that my Top Forces are the best handling 4wd Tamiya buggies in my collection! 👍 👍

I have a very hopped up custom TRF Top force with every upgrade available fitted, and I have a Top Force Evo (full carbon, high cap dampers etc) I have driven a Manta Ray to, albeit my mates one back in the nineties. I would hazard a guess that all else being equal (motor, esc, battery etc) the performance differences would be marginal, with the largest difference being down to human influence, as in the driver. Could make for an interesting test..... Once I've rebuilt porkers Manta Ray I may take all 3 cars up to our figure of eight track and log some lap times and compare? I think lots of people in the hobby get bling upgrades mixed up with genuine performance upgrades. I've seen it time and time again where the lower end models actually out perform the expensive ones.... We have over 15 models lap times logged on our figure of eight leader board, suprisingly the top 3 fastest are the DT03, the grasshopper, and the mad bull!!!! (all 2wd) Beating cars like the Turbo Optima, Porsche 959, Avante and XVO1, which are all expensive 4wd kits!! Mind you, we are certainly not race drivers..... Just getting round without ploughing into any curbs for eight laps is considered a win!! 😂 👍 👍 😊

We had an Avante at one point, it had been upgraded, aluminium chassis and all that, I have to say, incredibly underwhelming. I’ve throw a lot at my Terra Scorcher, but I had to because of the crash it had, so it’s a bit like Robocop now, but without the flashbacks 🤔👍

Im looking at picking up a sub £120 buggy.I like the look of the dt03 and the manta ray.I think the manta is less pleasing on the eye though.What would you recommend 👍

The Racing Fighter is priced really well, and you can afford some hop ups for that budget, the Manta Ray already has oil shocks though. Out of the box I’d say Manta Ray, if you want to do some Tinkering go for Racing Fighter 👍
