I use the Yeah racing TT02 motor mount . Aluminum and variable adjustments just put a strip of paper between gears and tighten to give a bit of gear lash which is needed . The aluminum is great for heat transfer with a slight weight gain but not sure , that’s a fat hunk of stock plastic .

We’ve done plenty of upgrading since then.

I've changed the 68T spur for 64T and using a 29T pinion

With 4000kv brushless on 3S. Not for the faint hearted.

I’ll be switching to the same pinion set up soon.

I like your style, but I think it's the esc that's holding us back, I'm going to try something else in mine and let you know how I get on with it.🎉😮😅😂😊

Maybe an esc upgrade is in the pipeline

Sticking with brushed? 60A ESC should hold up fine even with that 64t spur

Was thinking of eventually going brushless and lipo but seen too many battery fires on social media this week. Stick with brushless this year.

@@rctamiyaaddict4687 Yeah that can always be a worry, but I try to keep mine in a steel lock box when not in use. I had good luck with the KingVal 5900kv and 60A motor/ESC combo getting into speed runs. It runs for about $50 and the motor mount is about $10. If you stay in the gearing chart, it should be cool, reliable and consistent for ya.

What motor is in it?
@rctamiyaaddict46878 ай бұрын
Torque tuned that came in the kit. Just installed a hpi racing fire bolt 15T for the next run.

Better of with super stock motor or sports tuned for to end speed
@rctamiyaaddict46877 ай бұрын
Will add a super stock at some point

Thank sir , good work. Those Tamiya motors are hit and miss. It might just be dieing out on you.

Going to switch it over for the next run

What about those red wheels ? the sidewalls look smaller than the stock so that is not so strange you dropped speed This speed gear set is std in all my TT02's 😉Although i buy the Yeah Racing one. Also the YR motor mount is awesome as you can adjust better than the Tamiya one Try 63T #51356, or change the spur to a 48dp/64dp to go even faster
@rctamiyaaddict46878 ай бұрын
I tested the wheels against the stock ones and there was no change in speed, but will be looking for more suitable ones. I have a few pinions to try and a 64T spur to put in there. Thanks for watching and the comments.

Yeah, change to a brushless motor

Someone gave some very good tech advice saying I’ve pretty much reached my limit and need to switch to go faster.
