I sooo needed to see this!!! I've been leaving my tangles to deal with on wash day because I didnt know what to do with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks to you I FINALLY understand how to care for and style my curly hair!!! I have binge watched all your videos and pull certain ones up to watch while working on my hair. I saw Sheldon, Daniel, a precious bulldog puppy and a fluffy kitty! Thank you for your videos and enthusiasm. I just watched a few of your videos and subscribed. I've been doing this natural hair thing for at least 10 years. Never really gaining ground. Number one issue, can't find a stylist that knows how to cut curly hair. No trims means damage...I know this. I've tried to do it myself but it just isn't a thing I can do. That being said, another issue is that I have multiple porosities and texture types on my head. Both thin and med thick strands and low and high porosities. When this is present on one stand, products and know how don't help. I'd love to see how someone prefects moisture/ protein balance on a head of hair that is so mixed with needs. I have stopped all heat, chemical process, I know my product base is well achieved and healthy, satin pillow cases, conditioning treatments, etc. All on board. I've searched everywhere for videos for my particular issue (mixed density and porosities) and still haven't found one that helps. They ask just give tips on identification. They do say you can have mixed, but noone says more about how to help these heads?!? Perhaps you know?

I do that, too. I mentioned it to my African-American friends, they freaked out! They told me I should never do that and they told me about the Tangle Teezer and how I needed to work out the knots. But it seems like the whole back of my neck underneath turns into a big knot by about the 4th or 5th day, and I just can't deal with it.

Jannelle, this video was came at such a good time b/c my hair was dry and tangly before bed. I actually got back up and took my hair out of my buff and pineapple to try your technique. I have much longer hair than you do, so I can’t just run my fingers through the matted back of my neck after I sleep on it. I would have to BRUSH it. Any tips for not getting matted in the first place? I sleep with a silk bonnet. Thanks, love your videos:)

Thank you, Jannelle. I'm going to try this. I've been experiencing more than my usual tangling lately. It seems like I have to constantly finger detangle. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate hearing them. I can't use heavy conditioners because my hair is wavy (not curly) and will get weighed down. I've also heard that too much moisture (as opposed to hair being dry) can also cause tangling, so I'm not sure what my hair needs. Again, thank you for all of your great tips and all of your fun and positive presentations.

I’ve been watching your videos for a bit, and they’ve been helpful. I’ve been doing the curly girl method for months now. I’ve seen little change. My biggest battle is in the front sections, it is stringy, and tangled. No matter how much I wet brush it in the shower, and condition. If I put my hair down and come back up, it’s a tangled, stringy mess. If I plop, it is so bad that I have to finger detangle it, and then rescrunch it. I know the last hairstylist I saw said my hair was the driest she’s seen in a long time. Like I’d box dyed it many times, which I had not, but I had been having it done at a salon. I can be in the shower, and the top sections will still feel dry, and tangled. I try scrunching water & conditioner in it, but it doesn’t help. I’ve been doing a protein hair mask for the last 3/4 weeks, and it doesn’t seem to be helping much either. Would you have any suggestions? I’m about ready to give up, and go back to blowing drying or straightening. I’ve dealt for months with this stuff, that I thought was supposed to be the transitioning phase. I’d appreciate any help💜

I try to do something similar. I got some damage I’m getting chopped on Friday so I expect this routine to save me from this situation in the future. I found this spray refresher by Curls called Lavish that is super light and good for a refresh on day 2 but also super light moisture for my fine hair it has aloe juice and jojoba see oil. Maybe u an do a review. Curls has a lot of these light moisture/refresh things.
