I’ve thought about selling my full Kazan series, but every time, I stop myself because I realize how rare and special they are. I might not ever have anything else as special in my life!

Oh, I wish I’d taken the plunge and gotten the Chikuhodo Kazan brushes! 😍 If they ever come back I would not hesitate. Seeing them next to the Tanseido just show how beautiful and special they are! (No wonder you get offers to purchase them when you use them on camera 😂😂😂) I do like airy brushes at times, too, so I might give one of the Tanseido a try at some point. We just adopted a rescue puppy 3 days ago! Oh man, I’d forgotten how much work a puppy is! We thought about naming her Sadie, but we decided on Polly! From one puppy mom to another, I admire all you do! I’m exhausted! (But so, so happy!!)

Hi Lexi! Thank you for these reviews. I checked out the CT palette and when I saw the glitter, I decided against it. I am passing on the Tanseido brushes as well. This review made me realize I should have purchased the Kazan series brushes when I had the chance. Thanks to you, I do have the next best thing: the Chikuhodo silver fox series brushes (using them daily).

I branched out from Sonia G into Japanese brand fude too late for the Kazan series, and I am kicking myself!!! Everything I’ve seen just confirms that it is the perfect set for me. However, as you mention, the FO series is also incredibly beautiful (balanced with not being stratospherically expensive). The FO9 is my favourite useful brush, I absolutely adore it whether I allow it to bloom into a monster the size of my cat’s face, or whether I keep it in a brush guard. I actually prefer this series to the Zen series fox hair.

I was so excited for the pink blush and highlight duo until I saw that, yet again, the brand's description and actual shades are very different. I assumed the blush would be warm toned, like most of CT's line, but I wanted the highlighter based on the pearlescent pink description. Thankfully, the brand swatches were more accurate than the description, showing an almost rose gold shade that's much too dark and warm for me. I know I'm a broken record but I'm tired of the extra homework brands force us to do just to get an accurate understanding of what we're buying. I agree that the shades run warm, so I removed two of the browns and replaced them with a taupe and a mauve. I'm a bit of a CT collector and was excited to see her do something different. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment for me too. I should have just returned it but I adore her packaging and 9 pans are my favorite. Love the blush though. Highly pigmented and easy to apply.

Reviews of some of her recent holiday releases, particularly this eyeshadow palette, last year's face palette and multiple mini lipstick sets, are more negative than positive. I know limited edition products aren't always the same quality as permanent but luxury brands should do better. When ppl are paying $75 for an eyeshadow palette or face quad, they're bound to be unhappy with poor pigmentation, a palette of mostly sheer toppers (inaccurately described as foiled) and lipstick bullets that fall out of the tube when opened.

The CT eye palette is a very nice color story. You achieved a pretty eye look! I do like her other past eye palettes that you mentioned. The blush/highlight is also very pretty. I love the brushes with the blue handles. You have the best brush collection I can’t keep up with all of them. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃

I love the look, again, I can’t do glitter. Sadly. Too sensitive eyes. I do use now the Nyx glitter glue. It helps me with any fall out. Love the brushes. Always want those 😂😂 I want the silver fox too the Chikuhodo ones too

I came to the makeup world a bit too late to buy the KZ series, so I am glad to settle for these two beautiful blue brushes. I just ordered them and also the Z1 (squirrel) the FO-1 (silver fox) with these two. I will try them and let you know.

@@LexiJong I grew up with dogs and never considered having a cat until a tiny black fluff ball that showed up in my Aunt's backyard a few yrs ago adopted me. She's not like any other cat I've been around; she's essentially part monkey, part goat and part bratty toddler and being part goat means she chews everything like a puppy!! I didn't even think cats did that and I once caught her gnawing on a picture frame sitting on my bookshelf 🤣

I did get the round ferrule Kazan brush, and I do think it’s beautiful. However, what it has done is made me shell out for a Takeda red squirrel brush initially customised by another brush fiend, because I can see how Tanseido are conservative with the amount of hairs they use. That KAC20 is quite similar in size, hair density, and ferrule to the Chikuhodo Z4, which is one of my favourite blush brushes. So am I happy to have it, but it has also scratched that itch unless the fude world sees a more significant return of the Kazan brushes

@@LexiJong I can let you know if it meets expectations when I get it. After getting some Tanseido, and looking at the AC28 brushes, I decided that for another 1/4 the price I can hopefully get something much more substantial. I guess I’ll find out!

I wish I had gotten a second set! I was lucky enough to get duplicates of a few of my most used. I just still haven't found anything as great as that set but there are definitely some good alternatives.

@@LexiJong Hi Lexi! Thanks for a great review. I also missed the Chikuhodo Kazan and purchased the ZE series instead. Have you perhaps tried the Hakuhodo Kazan brushes? I haven´t seen anyone comparing them to the Chikuhodo Kazan series. I wonder how they perform in comparison.

Yes, her sale is incredible and so unexpected! I have used them with the Sisley L'orchidee blushes so I think the pressed powders will perform just as well... a nice light dusting.

And do you find that their shades are a bit similar, while the TF blush is more pigmented and the Sisley Orchidee is more dusty?

These two blue brushes are airy and fluffy so when it comes to the Tom Ford blushes which are pigmented, they can do more of a dusty look if I don’t want too heavy color, right?

I won’t buy anything Charlotte Tilbury anymore. I find most things from her line are overpriced and subpar, with a tiny few exceptions. I did a makeup declutter a few times and CT has ended up in the declutter pile more than anything else 🫤 On another note, I have been taking Scottish Gaelic lessons and your name is Leagsaidh (Lexie), just thought I’d tell you 😂❤

I declutteted legit almost every holiday palette I’ve ever bought from her, the two quads from year before last and the long skinny ones. Her mattes are nice but that’s not hard to do. She’s overrated I agree and almost everything of hers is too warm and orangey on me. I did love the pop shots tho!
