G, spiritual awakening is so frustrating. Just when things start to seem clear and everything is alright, WHAM! A tsunami of confusion hits and I am pulled under once again. It seems like there is no end in sight.

I do need to make a few videos on this subject. The clarity is a taste and a beautiful one at that. The ultimate though is seeing beyond both clarity and confusion to find that place in you that IS you that is total stillness; neither clear no confused, neither enlightened nor deluded, neither awake of asleep, neither empty of full. Just notice that the same you, the same awareness it witnessing both confusion and clarity. Stay with that and you will go beyond.

Thank you for that suggestion. With the state of things right now there are a lot more people that are having that experience. If you would be so kind as to send this suggestion to tapping@omschool.ca. It is easier for me to keep track of requests in my email than here on KZbin comments. In the meantime - Just tap on yourself as you are lying in bed. Notice the activity of the mind and say "Thank you. I know you are only trying to keep me safe and I love that about you. But we both need rest too." Don't try to assert that or repeat it over and over. It is a recognition of the fact, more than an assertion of an idea. Whenever you are woken up in the middle of the night, just repeat that. Remember what you are saying is the fact. So do your best to muster up appreciation and love for the mind and the whole nervous system that is only trying to keep you safe. Once it learns it doesn't have to keep you up in the middle of the night to do that it will gradually stop doing it. Remember, at one time in your life, there was a real threat that it needed to keep you vigilant about. It just needs to hear the message that the coast is clear now. That message is delivered through the tapping (communicating safety through touch) and you disposition of love and appreciation rather than seeing it as an enemy. It isn't. It is your best friend that needs a new strategy.
