I was waiting anxiously for this week Taylor’s reaction from SuperJersh (my favorite channel since he really pays attention to the lyrics - her forte - and melody) and he completely caught me off guard reacting to “All you have to do was stay”. It’s like a cliffhanger of your favorite show... “okay, this week he’s going to react to blank space... or Lover... or Out of the woods... or All too well.... or or or...”. No, no, no, you will have to wait another week to see that... 😂😂😂😂 Keep coming; I love it!!!

A super long tough work day, and there’s really nothing like a Jersh Reacts to Taylor to help unwind and “shake it off”. I was super curious if you’d do this song off of 1989, and the reason is it’s one of my least favorite songs off the album but still a good one. I really think you’d enjoy her live performances- especially when it’s just her and piano or acoustic guitar. She did a cool NPR tiny desk concert more recently which is all on KZbin. Can’t wait until you get to other albums. It’s gonna be fun

If you want a serious, sad and AMAZINGLY well written Taylor Swift song: All Too Well. Please, also listen to New Romantics (there's a music video) and I Did Something Bad. These three are my fav Taylor Swift songs. If you want more of political Taylor: Only The Young. The song is about shootings in schools in the US. About Taylor: her songs are ALWAYS personal, ALWAYS about her life. This song you just listened is about Harry Styles (of One Direction), they were dating and he abandoned her in the middle of a trip they went together to hang with his friends and let her alone. The pictures paparazzi took of her crying are heart-breaking. All he had to do was stay.

Only The Young is not only about the shootings in the US. It's also about the candidate she supported that lost in the elections and how only the young are the hope of the nation.

You're in Love is about Jack Antonoff. Death by a Thousand Cuts is based on a mix of the novel she was reading, breakups among her friends, and a Netflix movie. Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince is a political song using high school as a metaphor for US politics. Only the Young is about losing the 2018 mid-terms; and school shootings or school bullying? A lot of kids get abused at school without getting shot. Taylor was eating alone all through middle school, too. Anyone different is a target. The obsession of the fans as well as the media on her various boyfriends is one of the reasons for I Did Something Bad. She said in an interview back in about 2012 that one reason she never says who a song is about, is because she is sometimes looking beyond her personal experiences for the lyrics; she does have other inspirations; and not all the songs are about just ONE of the exes. Also, Paparazzi should be shot, frankly. I doubt she really wants to see herself in the news at those particular moments.

Had to laugh when you were gearing up for a ballad then this catchy AF song comes on. Also cool to show us the progression its a really interesting element to your reactions. ;) ALL TOO WELL is a big fan favourite album track from RED, If you're staying in 1989 a while longer maybe CLEAN would be change of pace. RONAN & LAST KISS also seem to be up top a list for 'saddest TS song' on a reddit thread (circa 2 years ago) I just searched. SAFE & SOUND (from THE HUNGER GAMES Soundtrack (2012)) is also described as a 'moody folk ballad' ft. THE CIVIL WARS.

Jersh, Taylor Swift is one of the greatest song writters from the 2000s up to now. She write 100% of her songs with piano or guitar, many of them directly from her journals. Some of those songs she gives them to music producer to finishing touches. You need to go back and look at the song credits. She wrote some songs alone; she writes most of them with collaborators, because she likes the additional creative input. She wrote the Speak Now album alone, not because she was trying to prove something; it was because she wrote the whole thing while she was on the Fearless tour after she added all the extra dates. She said in an interview, that there just weren't any other writers around in the middle of the night on her tour bus or on the airplanes.

She had several romances with musicians and actors; partly because she was so young when she started out, her entire dating life has been under a media microscope.
