I’m sure Joe had valid reasons for not marrying her or for being hesitant, even if he did love her. I remember in an GQ interview he made a joke about not liking your in-laws. I always felt like he probably low-key meant it. He said it for a reason. And this can be one of many valid reasons to not marry someone. On top of all the other shit he probably had to put up with. Well, I was crazy enough to do that. Can’t speak for anyone else but with me it’s having two fcked up parents who divorced, my dad was a bully who never loved me, so I never learned what showing someone you love them is like.
