When I was a young man , like 50 years ago, I saw these shoes as “old man’s shoes. Now that I am more “experienced” I have learned to appreciate fine shoes.

I have a pair of these shoes and they are about 8 or 9 years old and are starting to look rough but they are hanging in the there. I've just been using the Edmunds polish the whole time but have just discovered Saphir and have finally hydrated them. I'm going to try this when able. Thanks.

You are deff the best on KZbin. I saw a prettywell known guy on KZbin, try the patina you do, he didn't strip factory finish and it clearly was not as well done and outcome was no where near yours. I made sure I commented such, in a professional manner. He was using a heat gun on the leather to get out wrinkles...smh.

+The Elegant Oxford - Video idea: is there anything one should do to prepare shoes for storage? I have several pair that I don't use that often, but would like them to be ready to go in a snap when I do. I think my usual problems are drying out, and dust (I suppose I could get shoe bags for the latter). I definitely don't have enough shoe trees, is there a less expensive alternative?

Nice. But hydration is the bonding or absorption of water. You are adding a wax or petroleum. A better term would be lubricating the leather. Keep up the good work.
