Your blend of mixing of wrestling with jiu-jitsu make these videos seem like pure Catch wrestling instructionals. Especially this one. I know you don't like to use the term, but man oh man, you're definitely one of the top Catch wrestling coaches on youtube right now. Hahaha. Good stuff, keep it coming!
@alanguages3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I remember lockflow moves with Catch Wrestling vids before also, in reference to the head being caught with the legs, moving the legs to crank the neck, then going for a double wristlock/ kimura. I am sure Josh Barnett was being coached by Billy Robinson, when it happened. I think a Japanese guy made a video similar but a lot of submission moves years, before Barnett did his. Coach Brian is great to keep them currently, as a reminder and seeing a different point of view in instructing. Although he did not do the neck crank. I am not a fan of those.

i tried this and was sure it would work until my partner straighten out the leg I was leaning back on, popped up like the Undertaking and flipped me right over. He wasn't even trying the get the knee though because he didn't know Jujitsu. This is why it's important to try these things on regular athletic guys in the gym. Shit is different.

4:15 what if his right leg grabs your head and he forces you to fall backwards (maybe even controlling your left arm with his right arm)? Like what you show at 8:30 but different arms position...

I just feel like with a bendy or flexible leg guy.. you'd lose your head leaning back on his hips in side control. I think I could snatch heads from that position with my legs. 👍
@TeachMeGrappling2 жыл бұрын
No matter the flexibility one can’t because your back is against their thighs. You don’t stay there long either. Get in the positions and try it out. 🤙

what are the chances of them shoulder shrugging out of the head triangle once you take chest pressure off? it looks like there is an opening, but it could be just being nice to your training partner.

Okay…, Um. It’s okay, but there’s also some glaring problems with this. Self defense situation where you can punch is also a scenario where he can basically bite your manhood off if you're not careful with your junk being that close to his face and mouth. Ugly, but definitely a concern.
