There's such a deep rabbit hole of learning how to use your leverage with certain techniques, it's wild how so many grapplers don't understand it and will rely on brute strength and athleticism for most of their abilities. It really can take your game to such a higher level once you learn how to implement it as a force multiplier.

Did alot of getting to the corner when I did MMA. I just started Jiu Jujitsu about a month ago but haven't done this at my BJJ school yet. I noticed although the basics of BJJ and submission wrestling are pretty much the same there are alot of escape techniques I have never seen in MMA that I see in BJJ. I just got my first stripe today, I wasn't expecting it after only a month of BJJ.

Great fundamentals for takedowns. Its been alot of years since doing folkstyle in high school. Between the judo and bjj my leg takedowns had a gap. Now I see where I was messing up. Thanks for the lesson.

Awesome breakdown coach. One thing I learned from lifting weights is that the body will not express strength/power unless stability and proper leverage are present. Like the difference between a large 40lb box and a 40lb barbell -- the box is much harder to lift. Or a box with handholds vs without. Technique allows for the expression of strength. Could easily see how much better grip getting elbow deep allows.

This was so much fun to watch. I teach my double the same way. Were you Swisher your trail leg knee. Learned that from Purler many years ago. That’s exactly right look over his back and try to read his shirt. I think even Nick Purler used to say the same thing.

Thank you again. Amazing details. When you're on a body lock and they grapevine the leg like you mentioned towards the end, could you drop back down to the elbow deep grip and pop the hips? Been getting stalled out from this position with a training partner. Again thank you, have learnt so much from you over the years.

Would love for you to show a Backstep double. Like maybe set it up by taking your hands away or what I call a reach reach double. Where I reach like I’m going to secure an inside tie, but I take my hands away and change my level with a back step as soon as he reaches to tie up with me.

Love this grip and been using it a lot more recently as well! I've been wondering if there's an official wrestling term for it, do you know? I thought that backside or reverse high-crotch would make sense, but neither gets any hits on google. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

Can you apply the concept of "turning the corner" even if you aren't doing a knee slide? Like off mats and outside of sports on concrete when you shoot for the double leg can you still apply that concept? Please and thank you! Love this channel. It's helped me a lot on my journey
