Easy tips to feel at least, a little less stressed: 1) Sing a song while you shower. 2) Talk face to face with people. About anything at all. Even listening to others helps. 3) Don’t walk in your house. Skip and jump to your destinations like a protagonist! (If your circumstances allow) it’s all about awakening your inner child. 4) Add the happy songs from your playlist to your daily chores. 5) Stop! Breathe, take a paper and write all of your honest feelings and problems (and possible solutions) and shred it to pieces afterwards. 6) Hug a loved one if circumstances allow.

+Raven Wilson Try seeing the problems causing the stress differently. For example ; If someone you care about is not taking care of their own business and, it falls on you to help out with whatever is missing, or not right, Sit down somewhere quiet, and ask yourself ; "What am I responsible for in my life" ? (Imagine all the things being put into a 'storage' of some kind.) Then as yourself ; "Is (whoever is making the problem) taking care of THEIR SAME , OWN RESPONSIBILITIES as I am ? In other words, "What is 'your stuff ?" and "What is their stuff ?" Then ask yourself ; "If I take care of this person's problem, am I enabling or, feeding into the problem ?" Then ask ; "Will my letting them deal with it make them more responsible and, better at dealing with this in the future ?" If so, REALIZE that , it is not your problem to solve ! (If you can't solve a problem, then it is not yours to solve !) CHANGING THE WAY YOU PERCEIVE the stressful item. Then, it is MOST IMPORTANT to LITERALLY SAY THE WORDS OUT LOUD (To give you the release that YOU NEED over it.) CALMLY, GENTLY in a MATTER OF FACT WAY, that even you would not mind hearing, if the situation was reversed, that THIS IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM. (Using the 'Golden Rule") Then you are free to MOVE ON or, MOVE IN to help you, and others. Good Luck and, God bless. Amen.

As a college student, I experience a ton of stress all the time. Ironically, I am also always sick, slow to heal, and sluggish. Stress, as stated in this video, is the reason why I am chronically sick during the school year. The problem with this is that if I continue to stay this stressed all the time, I could start to impact my body and health long term. Stress is known to increase your chances of heart attack and it has a big impact on weight gain. I believe it is really important that people find ways of coping with stress. For a college student, this could mean taking studying breaks or planning ahead. It is not this simple for others who face stress everyday. I think it is important for people with chronic stress to seek medical help before long term effects take place and greatly change the dynamic of their life.

I've been on a really long personal journey with my anxiety and stress the past 2 and a half years I've been sober. Used to mask it with alchohal and drugs but finally back to somewhat normal after digging myself into a 9 year pit. What I can say about my journey and what has helped is a constant curiosity of life and others, Reading books and learning more about mental health, trauma, etc to more understand my own, meditation, and having a daily checklist to avoid just laying in bed hiding all day. So for anyone going through something similar or on the same lines.. it is going to be okay. The best thing you can do is keep pushing forward. I just kept doing things that proved to myself I really do love myself and want to live a happy, healthy life. Never give up. Always keep moving. You got this.

Adding this on my to watch list so I can watch it every time I'm stressed. I have somewhat an anxiety problem and just get stressed/anxious for no concrete reasons, so whenever I get stressed, I ask myself, "What are you stressed about?" and make sure I get to the core of the stress issue and see whether I can resolve it. If I can't resolve it or run away from it, I have to learn to live with it. Then exercise, taking a walk, writing down validations and encouragement for myself, or talking to friends and family about anything also help. Easy to say though, sometimes I'm still so stressed that I can barely move, but every bits of stress management count...

I've had depression and stress since my early teens due to being bullied and a natural shyness with the anxiety that goes with it. I'm 30 now and have had daily stomach issues for about 17 years , in the last 4 or 5 months though it feels as I'm carrying a snooker ball in my stomach, it's painful and extremely uncomfortable, the best way to describe it is the stomach constantly being stuck in anxiety mode for months on end with no rest. I'm rambling lol but I'm getting a tad worried about it.

Same. I'm close to losing my nearly full scholarship if I don't get Bs in all my classes, and I will have to take another year if I fail my digital systems course, my professors aren't helping me, I have no friends I can ask for help and all people do is tell me not to worry and link me stuff like this. Like I know this but being reminded of stress shortening my lifespan while I am at a peak amount of stress is the last thing I need. I've been getting less than 3 hours of sleep a night the last 2 weeks trying to resolve these problems which doesn't help either. T.T I just want to pass my classes with a B average and have this semester be over, but there is some minor mistake in over 4000 lines of code to implement a simulated processor that I have missed, and noone is helping me and I've gone over the thing literally hundreds of times now. this one mistake which I can't find and haven't found the last two weeks could mess up my entire plan for my college education and my professors are adamant about giving me a 0 if I can't get it working and refuse to debug my code for me, but all I need is some guidance on at least were I could look, but as it turns out I understand the material better than all but one of my professors already and he won't help and everyone else say's they don't understand it or it should be working. If I can't get my final project done I'm going to fail this course over what is likely one tiny error. I've switched to modular testing and I've begun just hard coding outputs to see where stuff breaks but so far it still gives me NO output I could even debug. apparently noone else has this or the last three labs done in my section and I'm somehow advanced and the professor still refuses to help.... I've got to go. It felt good to vent, but I have to get that done. EDIT: and no, even with the final If I bomb it I would normally get a C which I can recover from, but If a project isn't finished I get a 0 for the whole 5 credit course.

The end part is important. The effects of stress can be stymied as long as you have 1) an understanding of your situation (knowing the cause of your illness or stress) 2) sufficient control over your situation (you don't have to have the power to change it, just being able to do something about it is enough) 3) a belief that your situation will get better

I am definitely feeling the long term effects. First year of college really did a number on me. I was crying 2 hours a day. Never slept. Sat around reading all day, and never went outside. I lost a lot of hair, now I'm trying to grow it back. I'm in my second year now, not full time this time, but I'm struggling so much. My memory is horrific, and I have zero concentration. I have heart problems and blood issues as well as depression and anxiety disorder. I have bad digestive problems and heartburn (eroded teeth as a result). "College is the best part of your youth" my mom said. "You'll know real stress when you move out and work" she said. Stress has been a major part of my life for very long. I always associated with achievements. The more stressed I am the better the results. My body has actually been telling me for the longest time. I had allergies and other auto-immune diseases, always had diarrhoea, dull skin and hair, I was horribly irritable. That's not a way to live. The last sign was that I woke up with blotches all over my body and a lump on my throat. It was thyroid cancer. I vowed, two years now, that I *will never* put my body through anything like that again. My body is my temple. It is sacred. I manage my stress levels so much better now.

I have always struggled with anger , resentments, and unforgiveness. I have been working on it with a therapist and 12 step sponsor, and it is getting better. I was told that resentments only hurt you, not the wrongdoers. I had to write down my resentments and how they affected me to see the damage to motivate me to let go. I also had to write down my part in the resentments so I could see where i was in the wrong, make amends, change behaviors, build my character and reconcile relationships if appropriate. Obviously there are some situations you don't play a part like if you were abused. I really get into psychology and human behavior so I like to understand why people act how they do for example mental illness. It helps to have compassion on them and to wish them well. This is NOT justifying or condoning it just helps to understand, have compassion, and wish them well. Its also not good to get revenge, not only because of consequence but they will get their karma and there will be justice. If it motivates them to change and make anends be happy for them.

My stress levels where really really high, every muscle in my body twitches (literally every single one), headaches, I gained a lil weight cause I was craving sweet foods a lot, my colesterol went up a bit and I was in a non ending cycle of feeling ill, going to the doctor, running blood tests to see if everything was okay, not eating well cause my stomach hurt, more tests, etc. All I have is stress and it was killing me slowly, I even planned on taking my life cause I was fed up. In life, we often find ourselves under stressful situations, whether work or academic. All this brings consequences to the body even if we do not realize it, mainly influencing our central nervous system and the action of some hormones, within this, it could be that its action is delayed. Academic stress occurs more frequently in students due to the workload, studies have been carried out showing the high level of stress of the different careers. That is why, there must be some way to control stress in order to have a healthy life and not cause so many diseases, all that focuses on responsibility and good organization of time.

If they were in charge of what they taught, you could bet we wouldn't need homework and we would be much smarter. It is, though. Kids (of all ages) need to be able to relax and de-stress after school. Note that the country with the highest overall academic achievement in the world (at least regarding children and teens) is Finland. One way they went from being one of the worst to the best in achievement, was by eliminating homework. Most school systems in the US require homework. The US is NOT a world leader in education or academic achievement. Kids get daily homework, homework during holiday breaks, and in the summer. The best way to kill an interest in reading is to require it during summer vacation, or as homework (especially for a test or written essay). We need to ditch homework, not just for kids, but for teachers (or pretty much ANY job), too!

Stress can definitely cause sickness. As a student, exams are one of the stressful things. It strongly affects people that wants to be perfect, eg. Top students. I'm one of the top students from my class. Wanting to be perfect and wanting to get full marks/grades is very stressful. It results into getting panic attacks, crying and most importantly.. stress. Which will also result into getting sick. Eg. Fever, headaches, etc.. basically getting a common flu. Even sleep walking AND sleep talking! It is very rare, but it happened to me once. (Edit) Context: My mother was in my room, looking after me since I was sick. (From stress) she told me that: I just sat up on my bed for 10 minutes straight, when my mom asked me what was wrong.. I apparently replied "I'm going to the restroom" after I got up.. I stood in front of the window (which was closed, covered by curtains) and just stood there... looking at the curtains-. My mom thought I was going to start peeing there, haha..

I thought this was a great demonstration of stress with wonderful animation. A lot of people do not realize how damaging stress can be to many different body systems. While a lot of people agree that stress is damaging to mental health, many do not realize specifically the severe damage it can do physically as well. Chronic stress is the worst, and it can be difficult to manage. I think a lot of people have a hard time dealing with chronic stress. Personally, I have been suffering with a few chronic illnesses since childhood and I notice that stressful time frames will make symptoms flare and overall worsen my overall health. Dealing with stress and fixing it is as much mental as it is physical.

THIS IS SUCH A HILARIOUS EXPLAINATION OF STRESS!!! I LOVE IT ! FEELING STRESSFUL IS COMMON,BUT TRY TO BE CALM AND GET STRESSED FOR THOSE WHICH YOU CAN CONTROL AND NOT FOR THE ONES WHICH YOU CAN'T

Please note: There are people, very small yet cruel people who know how stress affects your body, thus are intentionally doing so. Please be very aware and pay serious attention to what or whom is actually causing you stress or is trying to control your reality.

Every problem has a solution, something that cause you to get stressed has a solution. Just find what it is, go for it. Trust me no one cares about you other than yourself, so don’t worry too much
