How do we find solutions to our deepest differences - particularly given the propensity for human conflict. International crisis management consultant William Ury has spent nearly 4 decades facilitating solutions to some of the world's biggest conflicts.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

1Let’s widen our perspective to include a third. The third is us. 2. Let’s change the way we engage: adding movement and not engaging only in face to face. 3. We can actually make a difference and bring not only peace but also prosperity. Tourism may be the answer. Loved it 💕

When the video plays to the point he talked about London rised from the rubble of 1945 to the most peaceful and prosperous city on the fact of this earth because of the idea of one Europe, it hits me that no way he can foresee Brexit, and the Abraham walk movement didn't exactly take off.

A common market of Middle Eastern States. Including Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.Leading to ever greater economic and political union underpinned by a shared respect for democratic values and human rights. It would ba a recipe for peace.

One of the challenges with the middle-east situation is huge stakeholders, outside of side 3, keep putting poisonous arrows right back into the people hands during conversation.

I believe the world would love to build up the Middle East if people would make it safe for us to do so. That’s not likely though, imo.

That was easily the least inspiring Ted Talk I've listened too. Some of his points are great and touching but his ideas are all over the place, I got nothing really specific and practical out of this.

You can reason as much as you can, why should we be "hospitable" and do not do terrorism, but when religion commands killing of infidels, and leaving religion is not an option, you will do the fist option to save your life and believe that you doing a "favor" to God by killing or terrorizing others. As for hospitality and loving your neighbor yes it is basis of all humanity, coming for Bible only.

Religion doesn’t command it, it’s irrational extremist ideology thinking by minority extreme it’s group. Majority of the Middle East do not believe like that and infact from my time there I have only experienced hospitality. It’s the thinking that one side is “unchangable” and the other side is the “right one” is exactly what doesn’t work as the TED talk just mentioned. As a neutral party you need to not only be just, but detach yourself from inaccurate notions
