@RByrne 3 жыл бұрын
I doubt he's paying for his own security. He makes other people a lot more money than he makes for himself, so its worth it for those people to keep him safe. The gang may let him settle his debts and start making more money before they go after him if they decide to. That way they can get revenge and score a nice payday.

DEA tried to get me to snitch and so did the cops. Kept saying I was going to prison. The DEA wanted me to snitch on someone I knew and set them up and the cops wanted me to set up like 6 people to get my charge tossed. I refused and got the weed charge but didn't get time in jail. At first the prosecutor was going to drop it to a lesser charge but the day of court said I didn't help the police even though they had told me I didn't have to and believed the weed I was caught with wasn't mine. A snitch that had got weed through the mail from my friend set me up and wanted me to hold the weed for him after acting like he couldn't get rid of it. Gave me a sob story and I took it like an idiot. I was going to give it to my friends mom who lived in the area. The whole drug task force pulled me over not long after acting like it was mine and they were clueless where I got it from. They all knew it wasn't mine and set me up just to get me to set my friend up they really wanted. I'm guessing they felt they couldn't get to him since he lived in California. I found out the snitch had been snitching for years and he disappeared and moved after I found out and blasted him all over social media. I called my friend as soon as they arrested me and told him what they wanted me to do and he got spooked and we didn't talk for a few years. We still aren't too close. I'm kind of pissed he turned his back when we were close but that's life. We still communicate but not like before.

@@jhoughjr1 It was a set up. Yes I possessed it but only because a snitch gave it to me to hold. As soon as I took it the drug task force pulled me over and acted like it was mine and charged me with distribution as if I was dealing drugs or something. That was a lie and they knew that. A mutual friend had sent him the weed in the mail and then he called me to hold it because he said he couldn't get rid of it. I was going to give it to my friends mom who lived in the area. I hadn't lived in that area in years either. I was just visiting family and my girlfriend. I tried many times just to dodge him and not even be involved in that bullshit. I had nothing to do with them. I didn't even know about any weed being sent through the mail until after the fact and they were telling me about it. I thought it was crazy and said so many times about shit like that. I don't deny possessing weed but it was fucked up how they set me up for it. The only reason they did was because they thought by arresting me I would snitch on my friend who sent it and set him up to where there was evidence he was sending it. I wouldn't do it. At first they were going to drop it to a lesser charge where it wasn't a felony but the day of court my bullshit appointed attorney said they wouldn't do it because I didn't help them. I'll have it expunged soon though. It happened in VA and it's legal now and thats the only felony on my record. The rest is just bullshit and non violent offenses when I was very young.

I got quarters or half quarters at most. I never wanted a felony amount in my possession. I admit I was stupid and took it but mostly because I didn't want to be in the middle of the shit. He kept calling and pressing me about getting him weed and bugging me about coming to hang out. If he wasn't a friend I would have thought it was a little pushy. I've had pushy friends though. To me it's all fucked up and taught me to never trust someone you think is your friend. They might not actually be. If I would have had a paid attorney I would have had it all dropped. They did a lot of shady shit and even cops I talked to about it after I was convicted said it was fucked up and had heard about the cops in the county I lived in doing dirty shit like that.

17:25 I can't agree with you more. Though I've never seriously broken the law I have been pulled over driving a bunch of times. I have discovered that if you accept responsibility for your mistake you are much more likely to have the man be lenient (or to get out of a ticket) I was once coming home from a friend's house very very late (about 2am). I was coming to a light and I went almost too far before it came to me that I had to stop. I had to lock them up and I went into the intersection and stopped less than a foot from another car. a cop car! The two cops in the car had huge eyes and one of them did that "come here" finger wiggle at me. I nodded and backed up to give the cop room to get by, then followed him into a parking lot. The cop talked to me for a long time, but in the end he did not issue a ticket. I think it was because I agreed with the cop on most of the things he was saying. Hell, I absolutely disserved to get a ticket, but I didn't. Everyone makes mistakes, some people willfully break the law, and if you break the law and get caught, you've got to be a man and face the consequences. You should never try to buy your way out of trouble at the expense of "bigger fish".

Have you ever done a review of the best and worst TV prison dramas? If not please could you do an episode on this. I love your videos. A couple of good ones to look at are Prisoner (Cell Block H) (1979-1986) from Australia, set in a women's prison. They made 692 episodes but the earlier ones are the best. If possible watch from episode 1. Porridge (1974-1977) from UK, this is a comedy starring Ronnie Barker. There's a Porridge movie (1979) but you'd be better off starting with the TV series. Another popular British one was Bad Girls (1999-2006) which in a way was like a British Prisoner Cell Block H but maybe (slightly) more realistic. I watched a few episodes with someone who knew all about women's prisons and she said it was just ridiculous (but kept watching!)

Larry: "How does a person's word not count anymore?" Me: "well, according to what I know about history, it never did in the first place." It kind of blows my mind that you expect anyone to keep their word without having some kind of leverage on them. I dont trust anyone to do anything other than what is personally best for them and I usually dont believe that most people think that what is best for them is to be good or honest. More importantly, why do you glorify not talking to the police? Man, you've been to prison so you know this isn't a game. Yeah, the high is great while you've got it going - when you've got the money and your buddies and you feel on top of the world - but when you end up in a prison where the other inmates will stick a knife in your ass and cut your taint down to your balls before raping you, no amount of champagne and hookers is worth that. And it isn't worth trying to act hard if that is where it lands you. There is always a bigger badass and there is always a crazier crazy.

ESPECIALLY for those who are maybe deciding if they can half be in the game for the image but not be fully committed (like Tekashi was). (By the way, at the end of the day I'm team no snitching if you're in the game, but I still think the convo could be productive). Thanks for reading my comment :)

props to larry for upholding the morals of not being a rat. there’s something unexplainable about it. i faced a few years suspended for a possession of drugs charge and was offered a break if i did rat work, but i refused. i think once i was in that situation facing my music i understood that i had made the mistakes that got me there, and incriminating anyone else would only be deflecting responsibility from myself. i served my short short stint did my papers and left then straightened out. snitching just isn’t right though. good on you larry.

@@LarryLawtonJewelThief I wouldnt get involved with a gang but 6ix9ine knew it would get eyes on him which is what he wanted. He wanted the fame for the money. He didn't see long term where that would get him. He also didn't expect the lions to turn on him once they where over their free meal. And so far apart from having security which most high profile people have, nothing has happen to him.

The guy is worth more to the gang out of prison than in. A deal was probably made where he paid their families, they go to jail and he gets out to make money rapping.

As a employer I hired people who needed a second chance. You had to be straight with them and not give them a chance to screw up. Sometimes it worked out sometimes not. But if they were honest with me I worked with them. I always made they had a meal and were paid in full on time.

heres an idea, what if an entire cell block got together and decided to rat the dude to the left (meaning everyone is ratting someone and everyone gets to make a deal)? does everyone get out? is it thrown out of court?

interesting idea. but not every person is a good snitch or a good target of a snitch. They only reward good and ongoing info on peole they are targeting. besides someone would snith on the idea 😀

Your word is everything . I am not trying to relate this 2 snitching or prison life but when I retired from construction about 20 guys or more that I have worked with over the years went to a bar and threw me a retirement party. 38 years in construction and someone asked me what are you most proud of and I said I don't have any skeletons in the closet. I was a foreman for the most part of my life and I never went to the boss and ratted on anyone nor did I break any Union rules like working without benefits or working for cash .Any problems I had with the men I handled it myself. And I'm still proud of that today. Take care
