You should see my tenpines bluff. The front has street lamps and a giant gate the whole perimeter is secured with walls and guard towers with turrets as you step inside theres 3 machine gun turrets and a missle launcher turret aimed at you. On the right the wall is just a giant bus with fire barrels and sleeping bags inside. Outside the bus is generators out back of the shack thats originally there. On top of the shack is a windmill. By the shack and bus seats and recruitment beacons. I kept the farm and just added more veggies. Then the center peice of the build. I made a 1 floor three wide house with a big porch on top of the broken house. It fits so well you can see parts of the old house inside but its completely enclosed. Next to that a giant barn worh two big white barn doors. Inside the barn power armor displays then another room with five beds. Giard posts theres four of them. They are dope too. Only need two guards to patrol them all.

There is posts you can use for support beams in one of the tabs I forget which one. And as far as the door opening up the wrong way I’m pretty sure you can detach the door walk inside the building then snap the door on again it should open up the other way. It’s been awhile since I’ve played fo4 so I could be wrong but doesn’t hurt to try. And if you want more space in your settlement there is a glitch I guess you can perform by dropping guns out of your inventory, go into your settlement building and pick up the guns and watch your building space drop down so you can build more within the boundary.

I'm a new sub and am enjoying your videos a lot! I've been playing various permutations of F4 since it came out, but I do find the settlement building to be the most fun. Especially small and almost cramped settlements. I like to see what I can do with them. I don't try to make settlements look modern, just clean and less drafty! LOL I've got a lot of mods installed that all have to do with settlements and more items, clean everything, and adding trees, greenery, and potted plants. Also some additional animals from DLCs and New Vegas. I've also downloaded mods that add more settlement spots which is fun but can be a bit buggy. I have Hancock as romantic partner and prefer him to the others. Since I've played this game so much, the quests aren't especially intriguing, but I'm always surprised at something new I haven't seen after all these years! And I like looking in every nook and cranny to find materials and loot. Fallout 4 is a relaxing and rewarding game for me and I play a few hours every night! Keep up the great work! 🙂

Ok ... ok ... I have a lot to say. First, you have an INSANE amount of views for apparently just starting this settlement build thing! You totally deserve them, though. Here's all my thoughts after watching all four of your build videos: After the first video, I thought: * Minutemen: Rebuild the Commonwealth by rebuilding and uniting settlements! * Institute: Rebuild the Commonwealth by SCIENCE! And EVIL! * Brotherhood: Rebuild the Commonwealth by wiping out abominations! * Institute: Rebuild the Commonwealth by freeing synths! * If/Then Create: Rebuild the Commonwealth by INTERIOR DESIGN!!! I find myself surprisingly drawn to the latter. I'm normally not a fan of ASMR, but there is a hella appealing ASMR vibe to the rhythm of your voice which makes your videos VERY engaging. They're enjoyable to watch but also to listen to. The Bob Ross of Fallout 4 videos. I have been basically making giant houses, barracks of a sort, and now feel like I've done the NPCs of the Commonwealth dirty. I'm having to go back and redo all my settlements. So ... thanks for that. I did make sure they ALL had excellent weapons and armor so they could defend themselves, even the farmers. But now I feel compelled to buy up all the ballistic fiber I can find so I can give people clothes that a) give them protection but b) reflect their jobs. Guards will get armor but I can give armored labcoats to the clinic vendors and an armored, sequined dress to the clothier, etc. I'm a fan of lore and watch Fudgemuppet and Epic Nate and whatnot as they explore the grand, overarching lore of Elder Scrolls and Fallout. But your ability to create lore for the nameless NPCs of a random settlement is ... amazing. I don't know how much you've studied history, but there's a debate about whether we should focus so much on the grand histories and big names or should dig into the nameless and forgotten serfs and peasants and whatnot. It definitely changes how you view history. That one house you made for the one ghoul ... I think in Starlight Drive-In? ... and the story you wove about her was so ... humane. Or how you took two farmers at Oberland who, I admit, I'd never thought about aside from making sure they were fed, watered, housed and defended (and had some cats and dogs). But you wove this whole story about this lesbian couple and gave them a wonderful place to live that reflected the story ... loved it. I'm interested in your username. My bachelor's degree was a double-major in history and philosophy. I did the latter as a humanities elective and loved it so much I turned it into a major. A totally useless major but one I don't regret in the slightest. Which is to say that if/then, because/therefore strikes a chord with me. I'm interested in why you use if/then create. I haven't watched the rest of your videos so I don't know much about you beyond what I've seen in your Fallout builds. I assume you're working on your next build. I'd love to see what you'd do with a place with a giant, existing structure like Taffington Boathouse or Croup Manor.
@IfThenCreate8 ай бұрын
First of all, thank you so much for this comment. It’s incredibly insightful and kind, and it means the world to me that you took the time to appreciate my storytelling. IfThenCreate is an umbrella name for all my side projects, and a nod to if-statements in code! I make games and crafts and a little bit of everything. I think of it like, if (I’m feeling inspired), then create, or in this case, if (I’m playing Fallout), then create! Whatever the “if” is, it’s always a good enough reason to make something :)
@nathanwhite648 ай бұрын
@@IfThenCreate That makes sense! I took one semester of coding and after writing a minor novel to make a circle animation spin while sweating the entire time lest I make one grammatical error I decided it wasn't for me. I'd totally forgotten that "if/then" was a part of coding. And I was reading your name wrong because "if/then" is so bound in my head. I should have been reading it as, "If _______, then create!" Very cool to take a programming term and make it artsy. What's interesting to me is that you have more a "because/therefore" mentality to your settlement building. BECAUSE of this story I'm creating about this settlement or person, THEREFORE I need to build the house this way. For that reason, it's difficult NOT to appreciate your storytelling. For example, in the Nordhagen Beach settlement, you really let the vision of a farm (both for food and water) define how the entire thing was built. Or, in what I thought was a brilliant move, the way you used the scrapping station for the mechanic to give her a job which reflected her larger job which reflected the larger purpose of the settlement was inspired! I am reminded of Grandma Shirley and the way she made backstories for her Skyrim playthroughs. And that is about the highest praise I can give.
