I like the idea of the mezcal old fashioned. I've done my own twist on the old fashioned before by making a Margarita old fashioned (50ml tequila, 5-15ml Cointreau, 2-3 dashed angastora or orange bitters and a lime twist for garnish) you should try it at some point

Best cocktail channel on KZbin... in my opinion at least! Super easy cocktails, nothing too complicated, no booze you couldn't pick up at some store in your vicinity and filmed in a really appealing way! Keep up the good work pls :) I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in saying this really helps some amateur bartenders recreate tasty drinks at home!

Hi! Great video :). Do you think you could make a video on liqueur-based cocktails? I mean, after dinner cocktails where the most prevalent flavour comes from a liqueur :D. And maybe a video on prohibition era cocktails too! :D. Or another one on most popular British cocktails! It's interesting to see how something that is uncommon in a part of the world can be pretty well-known somewhere else :O
That mezcal Old Fashioned is GOOD! I didn't have chocolate bitters so I used Angostura. Everyone should give this one a try.

It is true that tequila its a kind of mezcal since both are made of agave, but tequila is made only of "agave tequilana" also known as "agave azul", instead mezcal is accepted to be made of a larger variety of agave. The regions where tequila is made is smaller than mezcal. This both facts contribute to making mezcal a richer liquor, because its flavor may be very different from place to place, you can have a fresh taste, smoked, a bit sweet, dry o fruity, and usually it brings the plants flavour, also the smell adds another dimension. It is standard for mezcal to have higher alcohol content than tequila. Tequila can be really good by its own, but mezcal goes beyond. (Sorry for the bad english. Nice touch on the "paloma" and thanks for your videos.)

Great video! I made the mezcal old fashioned. I really dig the use of the chocolate bitters, but I found the proportions to be far too sweet for my palate. For me, a full 2 oz is the ticket, and maybe I would only do .25 oz of agave. Maybe my agave is sweeter than yours? In any case, thanks for making the video, and keep up the good work!

I like adding 1 to 2 oz of fresh Ruby Red grapefruit juice and top with grapefruit soda. Use equal amounts of tequila and fresh grapefruit juice. I want to try using grapefruit liqueur in place of fresh grapefruit juice. maybe 1/2 oz?

Hi there! Thanks for making and sharing these. You talk about checking for dilution - when do you notice too much water in the drink - that is how many times have you got to try the drink until you know you have the right dilution? And what to do to correct over dilution? Start another drink?
@bondrinks8 жыл бұрын
+hugo mocc All about trial and error really Hugo! If you over dilute you can re balance with a bit more alcohol. Thanks for watching!

Mezcal is much more complicated, remember there are different types of agaves with different ages of maturity. And the process to make mezcal is very different from tequila, it is smokier. And the process and culture for the smokiness is awesome.
