This was intended to be a camp progress update. Due to poor planning and filming half of it upside down I was forced to edit the footage. I also spent longer than intended introducing the Terävä Jääkäripuukko which is outstanding. Part 2 to follow. Apologise for the outcome of this video.

Yeah I got one of theses knives a few months ago. The sheath is actually really good quality too. What a bargain this knife is. I have used it mainly for batoning wood and it is really tough.

Greetings! It is great to see you have bought Terava Jaakaripuukko. These are excellent knives at a very reasonable cost, the steel is 80CRV2 which is very tough, I have made knives from this.. It is a great 'feather-sticking' and all around bushcraft/ woodsman's knife. They have not squared the spine off as I suspect that would add to production costs. Of course, not everyone uses a ferro rod. I suspect, if, or when you re-handle it you might have to make a one piece handle as the tang would be too slim to create a thick enough handle (slot cut down one side) to the back of handle. I have a Hultafors Classic and it is a well finished axe, very durable and a true contender in the World of Bushcraft Axes. All the Best WS

Woodsman Spirit Thanks I should have mentioned the steel really. They spine is ground but if anything they have gone to more effort to make this 'bevelled' grind. Also I will post an update on the Lars Fält Knife over the next couple of days, I had a really promising response from Casström UK. All the best.

Woodsman Spirit could you say something about rust and 80CRV2? Thanks

I've had the stainless version of the Jaakaripukko for over a year and it is a top quality tool. I too bought the knife only and when I bought mine it came with a plastic insert and I made my own sheath. The steel quality is excellent and they are Finnish made. This could be sold for four times the retail price if it had some fashionable name on it. Enjoy ! Thanks for sharing.

14:21 Edit "30mm longer" not 30cm longer. I'm sure that was obvious to all. 🤔
