I loved how you rang the imaginary bells. Good intro level course but that rig looked hard for beginners. Thx guys!

Hey guys! Finished Terrain Race NY on Saturday and I must say they redeemed themselves. My hopes weren’t high but the guy working parking remembered me from Muddy Dash and assured me it would be a better experience. Just got the video up this morning. Thanks for the motivation guys!

That's good news! Glad they did ok by you this time! Was it a short one like Hartford (2.5 miles)??
@ByondTheNorm2 жыл бұрын
@@OCRKings you know they didn’t do to bad. I clocked 2.77 miles on my Garmin but I forgot to press start until maybe .15-.25 miles in. A decent elevation gain for the type of race it was as well because it was at Holiday Mountain. I brought a client of mine (I’m a trainer) who had lost over 160 pounds over the last year, my son, and my coworker so I’m glad they were able to experience a decent race. This time it was more about them than it was about me. Palmerton’s Super this Saturday on the other hand is allllll about me haha. Thanks as always guys!

Great video as always guys! Love the “ding” motion haha I can relate, it feels weird with no cowbell. You see me looking for one in my BoneFrog video too lol glad to see you had a better time than I did with Muddy Dash. This video has me looking forward to Terrain Race NY this Saturday!

Heh-heh, gotta have that cowbell! I will check out your Bonefrog video and look for the non-bell there. Let us know how Terrain Race NY goes, hopefully will be enjoyable.

I did the one on Phoenix Arizona ran by the same company In AZ there was MUCH more mud that you had to crawl through it essentially felt like it was mostly getting through mud (but it did have almost all of these obstacles as well)

the Erie race we signed up for is postponed.
@OCRKings2 жыл бұрын
Yikes, how come? Did they give a reason and/or a new date?
@elizabethhughes10672 жыл бұрын
@@OCRKings Nope, they gave us a few races we can transfer the registration to, or wait till they reschedule. When I emailed them asking if we keep the same wave start time, they never responded. Never gave a reason why it was postponed. The one race they gave us to move to is the same day as our 10 mile Tough Mudder we've been working for all year.
@OCRKings2 жыл бұрын
That sucks! I am sorry to hear that. I hope they reschedule to the same location on a date when you have no other races. I wouldn't worry about the wave start time. They might not be super strict on holding people to specific waves. Either way, have a good time at Tough Mudder, be safe and enjoy. Fingers crossed the Terrain Race works out for you.

I'm doing my first TR next week and I'm worried I won't be able to complete all the obstacles. Is it okay if you can't?
@OCRKings2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is totally fine if you can't complete an obstacle at Terrain Race. There usually are no penalties, just keep on going. Good luck at your first TR and enjoy!

I have a decent cardio and run a lot but don't have much upper arm strength is this gonna be something I find challenging?
@OCRKings2 жыл бұрын
Terrain Race is a great race to start with if you haven't done and OCR before and are worried about arm strength. There are no penalties for missing or failing an obstacle, and I think you can make as many attempts as you want. It's a great place to experiment. You'll be fine!

So would all races be around the same Mile range?
@OCRKings2 жыл бұрын
That is a good question! Typically races are a standard length, with 5k being the smallest distance. Terrain Race seems to vary from around 2 to 3+ miles. So the answer for Terrain Race is yes-ish, meaning around the same mile range, but not exactly the same for all of their races. I would look to run a 5k (3.1miles) but plan on the actual race being less.

Elevation gain of 18 feet? Man that I call a flatty mcflater

Obstacles are not mandatory at Terrain Race, so you could pretty much skip any one of them (or all of them) with impunity.

@@OCRKings ah, so theres no first place prizes and stuff?
@OCRKings Жыл бұрын
@@justinshoats6989 Great question, I don’t believe so, no. There is certainly no prize money at Terrain Race. That is certainly more of a Spartan Race thing.
