*Tryna make 225 my warm up now and my overall bench in general. Currently I can hit 10 reps on just recently but it's still not easy so I got work before it becomes my warm up*

So if to bench more weight you bench more than you get the negative feed back like tight shoulders, pecs, potential shoulder pain etc. Does the same apply for squats? I've followed programs before but ad volume and intensity go my knees and glute cry out, what do you guys do?
@kutijicapodgorica67436 жыл бұрын
Terron please explain,who should do close grip on bench press,l saw all powerlifters do a wide grip,My triceps is stronger then chest but l am tall 6.2,what sholud l do close bench or wide?

Found a good variation for bench using bands: wrap them around elbows* and use them as slingshots Mark Bell (TM). *wrote "shoulders" first, sorry for the mistake

Terron, are you supposed to look forward whenever doing bent over rows? I was taught that doing that is bad form because you put a lot of strain on your spine and that having a neutral position is best. So what’s the correct way to doing this workout?
@kxnxksnsnaakkajsns71816 жыл бұрын
Ray Calluses he’s doing a power row not a strict row. Calier woolam does that too to build his deadlift and then does strict rows with good form lower weight afterwards

If you want a more accurate/ objective measure of progression you could try leaving the bands over the 2 plates and putting plates outside of the bands. The more plates you put on the further the bands stretch so continually making it harder which could give a false representation of strength as you think you're getting a certain amount of tension but it could be a lot more. It probably doesn't make much difference as the change in tension probably isn't significant but just a thought
@TerronBeckham6 жыл бұрын
Ouch my brain lol
@blazkowiczincorp72176 жыл бұрын
@@TerronBeckham I think what he is saying is that you just move the same weight plates so the band would automatically become more resistant. But you could have the same result if you load more smaller plates for the same weight -ie instead using 8x20 kg you use 16x10 kg on the barbell the band would automatically be more tight bc the distance.

Both are fine even though crossfit is hated by people I say the crossfit one better suits athlete due to them it caring about weight slamming since your gnna be doing a lot of explosive lifts like cleans

I’m 16 years old 5’8 143 lbs. 3 months of consistently training. Bench:165 squat: 235 deadlift:250 what are your guys opinion? Currently I’m running ppl
@cow5276 жыл бұрын
Progress is progress homie! Keep doing what you're doing. The only thing I would suggest it to not make bench the main goal of your workouts (if it is already). A strong bench may be nice to show off but your bench and deadlift are much more functional. Focus on those and your bench will come up with those. For instance I'd work on squat and deadlift two to three times a week and upper body once to twice a week. If you're already following something like this then awesome! A channel that I think my benefit a beginner or even an advanced lifter is the Strength Camp and Elliot Hulse's main channel. Definitely go back to the older videos. Newer content there just isnt as useful. He preaches 5x5 and that's what brought me to where I am today and I've been training for 2 years. Bench went from like 105 to 265. Squat went from 225 to 275 (my squat is trash lol). Deadlift went from 255 to 385. Keep grinding!
