You don’t need to be in track mode to have max acceleration. In fact you might be slowing down a bit bc track mode cools the battery down. Charge to 95%+ precondition battery for supercharging in order to heat it up a little bit.

I also have a M3P - '22 blue/white, so I love watching your vids. Fun fact - I drove a Hellcat and a Model X P90D (similar performance to our cars) back to back and that was what convinced me I needed a Tesla, there was no comparison. I want to see that Hellcat vs a Plaid, I wonder which car would win..they seem like they would be pretty evenly matched.

@@mholmes9262plaid can do 9.2 @ 155mph so honestly it would be incredibly close. It would all depend on the reaction time from both and the plaids battery needs to be at least 90% otherwise it won’t beat that hellcat

So many Teslas are now running tracks, that it seems track owners may want to invest in superchargers on or near their properties. Maybe somebody in that world should start suggesting it to the right people.

@@RichOnTrack It seems a track owner could install just a single unit and start making a little money to start with. Though there are more Teslas / EV's at tracks, there still may not be enough to demand several chargers, yet. The fact that a track owner can someday break even, may entice early placement. I've never been to a track, but if you go to any just start suggesting it. Honestly, at a track, drivers will pay a higher rate, just to stay tight.

I wish! I always loved that model Supra because I grew up loving Fast and Furious! I did get my S3XY buttons I haven't been able to get to the track recently. I am hoping to be able to test them out soon though!

@@RichOnTrack Great ! looking foward to see if battery temp will get you in the 11.4 maybe .. will see. at least you will still hold your power at lower SOC And you will prove that the tesla 450hp rating is totally off haha , you can push close to 630hp from the batt pack and 520whp .

So the best is no track mode, route to supercharger to warm the pack. I got the sexy buttons to help warm the pack but I haven’t been able to head to the track recently to test it out yet

I presently own a Kia Stinger gt awd drive but got a chance to drive a 22 model 3 performance. Super sick! It changed my mind about electric vehicles. Just curious how much more the insurance is on. MP3 though

I will say for me personally, it is around $150 a month I believe but thats for California and it is through Tesla insurance with higher coverage than minimums. A similarly priced car would definitely be more expensive so if your state offers Tesla Insurance, give them a call for a quote.

Have you tried to switch to 100% FWD when your rear motor is hot? Or like 80 FWD/20 RWD?

The front motor doesn’t make nearly as much power as the rear. It would only slow it down.

The bias settings in Tesla Track Mode only apply while turning the wheel. In a straight line, both motors receive full power. I've seen tests where they tried various settings and the times were all the same.

As @lemongavine mentioned I believe the bias only works when turning your wheels so unfortunately we can’t split the power to each motor.

What is your best 1/4 mile run? No offence but your numbers arent good. I have run it around 20 times and my worst was 11.47 , my best was 11.37 @ 119mph , all stock. I dont use track mode and just navigate to a sc 30 mins before racing

I think 11.55? My SoC was like 80% I think when I did the run. I did know about navigating to supercharger but I’m not sure if it did anything cause it was 100 degrees during that run

Too hot I cant imagine how it feels under that helmet! Mine was at about 70F with 92% soc. Try it next time, navigate for 30 mins before the race and turn off navigating before the race starts. Goodluck brother!

@@RichOnTrack i have two pd3 a 2019 and a 2022 and a Plaid. I have learned tons about launching them. Make sure your obstacle acceleration is off also it may limit a good launch also. To warm up your pack you can select navigation to a supercharger and it will precondition your battery for charging that will help your battery temp up to get good times also. The trick to a good 1/4 mile time is motors cold battery warm. Also if you live close to a supercharger hit that b4 the track…

Please stop worrying about your rear motor temp. Like others have said, track mode does nothing for you on the drag strip. Just make sure that your battery is warm to get your best times.
