Besides the electrician was really named Dave and has code violations like not labelling the second hot wire red and ground should be copper. I believe reidentifying a ground may not be code

Electrician Dave & Greg did a great job, probably for their own home. As an electrical engineer with over 25 yrs experience, I’ve done same. No criticism here, but I prefer THHN wire vs NM-B (romex). We don’t know length of run to determine if #6 or #8 copper wire was used. Red tape on both ends of L1 is recommended for future troubleshooting. Let’s assume all connections have proper torque. When hiring a licensed electrician, always get a minimum of 3 quotes, especially if using Qmerit. I got 7 quotes for a commercial EVSE install and prices ranged from $700 to $2800 for the same job.

Surprised you didn't do a dual charger seems the main reason to use the pedestal. Debating for that.

NM-B can't be used underground if it is actually NM-B. What's with white being used as phase conductors and black as ground??. No electrician did this. What wire size was used? Why introduce a splice point when a pull through could have been done instead with XHHW?

Most people really don't need a wall connector or a 240 volt outlet like they think they do.

That’s an opinion, consider your kids it parents fumbling with a mobile connector trying to plug it in the wall and they get electrocuted because someone wanted to save a few bucks, think how terrible you would feel. A WC also chargers faster.
