Don't understand the complaint about the engine/eCVT noise. Yes it roars when pushed hard, but who drives like this all the time - not all of us have the luxury of 250kmh speed limit? Those vehicles are not made to be driven hard on the autobahn.You push it, get up to normal speed than maintain it in a great comfor. It takes a bit of time getting use to, but its a great set up, extremely reliable and with very low running cost too!!!

While some people hate driving experience of cvt, this is not traditional nissan's cvt that lasts only 30k km. If maintained properly, this lexus will last eternity...

@@Mamerto. It's not a traditional "cvt". While it's called e-cvt, it's nothing more than a planetary gears that is coupled to electric motor.. And believe me, it's acts like a cvt, but it's 10x durable. Basically, every toyota's hybrid has it, and it's one of the most reliable gearboxes... If maintained properly this lexus will go as far as 300,000km problem free...

4 cylinders are loud at high revs. V-6 and inline 6"s a little less. V-8 sound great...V10 and V12 are glorious.

Try it in a manual gearbox car, keep it in a lower gear and get the revs to sit on the red line. Makes the same noise. Dear oh dear.

In the States top speed is 112 MPH. (180 Kph) with a limiter. Uses Regular Octane 87. Run Flats. The RX uses conventional tires. Everybody is complaining about the CVT whine but that is the 4 cylinder at rev. I drive mine at 80-90 MPH daily and it's fine.

i love my old V6Hybrid more except of the better ride quality in theses new ones; its growl at low rpm accelerating up to 100km/h is depressing and at high rpm its still a nice V6 sound ! Toyota/ Lexus did a big mistake to let down their best engine ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZO2c5KKmad0bqM

Electric wouldn't go 200 km before recharging for two or three hours at these speeds, while this goes for 800km in one go. On highway the price of petrol and EV charging is the same, so you would spend minimum X4 amount of money on traveling the same distance. EVs are just overpriced city cars at this point. Maybe in 10 or 20 years they'll make more sense to buy

@@gvs9015 Not just pure speed, but this Lexus has 0 kick down power, imagine having to overtake on a b-road. A small 1.6 turbo diesel will have more torque to do the trick. I am not saying they're bad cars. The probably have the best hybrid engines. I know Lexus were making hybrids since I was a kid. But they look to be painfully slow for what they are.
