I traded my 2019 Mustang GT for the 2019 Ford Edge ST and this is why: I had three F-150 but it was time for a change, I bought the 2019 Mustang GT and absolutely love this car hands down!!!, However I live in a snow belt and I just don’t have the heart to drive my Mustang GT in the winter!, What I needed was something in between hence The 2019 Ford Edge has good performance and all wheel drive and I can tow up to 3500 lbs and I bought with the performance package the same colour and black out like my Mustang GT Bring winter on! 😎🏁

The new 2019 Ford Edge ST First off its a SUV not a car, Yes it’s a SUV ST that you should of compared to other SUV in the market and you did see this?, What kind of car reviewers are you?, You say there’s not enough head room? Well try putting the seat down and lean back the back rest, The shifting knob I do agree with you.....nobody likes them!, Also note: The 2019 Ford Edge ST also share the 2.7 litre out of the F-150 and can also be boosted to ready for this 540hp and 583lbs of torque, Know fact check out 2.7 boosted on KZbin, With this kind of power in a 2019 Ford ST you’d be pulling away from police interceptors if that is your thing lol,

Finally a person that gets it. We just got DUMPED ON with snow here in SE Michigan. It was fun watching those sunny day, California proper cars like the Mustangs and Chargers, spin all over the place because of the snow. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Mustangs but they aren’t a daily driver here in Michigan. I watched many Mustangs and Camaro’s spin out into a median or ditch because the owner could only afford one car and that car wasn’t made for snow.

I just bought one after cross shopping a Santa Fe, Mazda CX5 and a Honda Passport. It hauls about the same same cargo but the performance is in another league! I don't give a dam n how fast you can go around d a corner, actually have a Miata RF for that and a Shelby GT500 for real fast. What it does it does well. It's quiet, comfortable and seats are good. Did you really expect a 5k pound vehicle to drive with the same characteristics of the focus st? Drive the Sport and the ST back to back and you will see there is a pretty significant difference. I also think if you're going review how it drives you should drive it more than around the block while you're making the video. I'm sure your viewers would have liked to see you push it hard on the highway and in the turns. I agree 52k isn't cheap but the Jeep SRT is 70k. coelho sports, I've only been on vacation in SoFL (last time was like 10 years back), but it sounds to me Ford loaned them that Edge ST in Aventura, the higher-income town on the Dade-Broward border (not far from FL's largest mall Of the same name). Those streets over there tend to go mostly in a circle and there's not terrible amount of traffic outside the nearby of the mall. Could be wrong, though... Some local would clarify. BTW, the Edge's problem is the same as the Fusion from where it was based (also on the Regal TourX wagon): it was made from a too heavy platform to begin with. If the Fusion came about -200-300lbs. it would've be a whole different story, even with the EB'd 2.7 (same engine as the Fusion Sport, but with a slight more kick to it), which do have on paper the right numbers, but have to carry a platform that's not nimble enough for the size.
@CoelhoSports5 жыл бұрын
@@syxepop "Could be wrong, though... Some local would clarify." i think i said i live here in my post. they're on marco island on my side of florida. i've been to aventura on the other side several times and all around dade, broward, palm beach, and all up the atlantic coast, not just driving but stopping and doing things and staying overnight, etc. in the beginning they mentioned the mileage they were getting, so they probably drove alligator alley to get there. i've lived down here about 15 years now. the sticker price they showed is way too high but like i said, in lots around where i live a little north you can get them discounted in the mid $30's. real world pricing would make me consider one. i would prefer the explorer but those are overpriced in my opinion. i would almost be tempted to buy a used explorer from the government in 5 years with 60k miles or so.
@syxepop5 жыл бұрын
coelho sports, thanks! I appreciate that you correct me (not everybody does that). And yeah, that part of SW FL seems the kind of "sightseeing kind of place" automakers would send the press to "test" (Really?) their cars under their conditions. Even as Explorers are as a percentage a lesser sell to fleets lately I'd figure you can probably find an ex-lease Explorer ST or up line Aviator (w/the more powerful EB'd 3.0L) for quite cheap (40-50% of original MSRP) in as soon as 2-2.5 years, as Explorers (by their "lack of heavydutiness", just ask most cops) doesn't historically tend to hold their value well at all...

In my opinion the Ford Edge ST could have been better, there were a lot of compromises, *Ford used the ”ST” badge to market the vehicle,* than producing a Ford Performance Crossover, a lot different from just “Sport” so I’m not just excepting that it’s not what it could have been. Ford definitely should be held accountable I’m not hating, *just disappointed*

I’m fine with it just being a Sport instead of an ST. I’m looking for a quick not plain midsize suv.

Yea no thanks...I'll hold onto my Focus ST and then buy from another manufacturer for my next car. Putting the ST badge on this and thinking that enthusiasts in the US would be satisfied is just dumb. The rest of the world gets to enjoy the new Fiesta and Focus ST and we're stuck with this...

Good video, I agree with most of your observations. I think it's a cool SUV and I'm halfway considering getting one, but only if I can get a good deal on one. As cool as it is in some aspects it's certainly not worth the price tag.

It annoys me that they keep talking about the damn Fiesta. We get it you loved that. But comparing a small performance hatchback to a crossover is asinine just like comparing a Model 3 to an SUV. That being said other than those gripes still a decent review.
@beri2325 жыл бұрын
The tech may not be equal but if you look at the engine stats.... the hp and torque are almost identical to the Audi Q8 which is double the cost of the Edge here in Canada when fully loaded up. Plus.... 5 to 7 years in when you decide to sell both cars, you won't take near the shit-kicking on the Ford's resale as you will on the Audi. Not to mention, the Ford won't have $500 oil changes once a year! Can you tell I had prepped myself to buy an Audi and changed my mind? Haha

Painfully true for anyone who owns/leases them. Its a solid car but they didnt go far enough. A 3.5 or 5.0 wouldve been hard. I wonder if like even an etorque thing could work.

The video thumbnail says fast but not fun, but I would say it's quite the opposite. Fun but not fast. It's got a boatload of torque that pulls hard, but isn't adequate for all the bulk

I think using the x3, x4 as mental comparisons isn't fair. A hot hatch is going to be more fun, because of weight and center of gravity. You should have used something comparable from Hyundai, Chevy or Dodge, oh wait... 52k is high, but that's msrp, who's paying msrp? They did a lot right..
