I traded my 2019 Mustang GT for the 2019 Ford Edge ST and this is why: I had three F-150 but it was time for a change, I bought the 2019 Mustang GT and absolutely love this car hands down!!!, However I live in a snow belt and I just don’t have the heart to drive my Mustang GT in the winter!, What I needed was something in between hence The 2019 Ford Edge has good performance and all wheel drive and I can tow up to 3500 lbs and I bought with the performance package the same colour and black out like my Mustang GT Bring winter on! 😎🏁

One of these turned a corner by my house at a pretty good clip the other day. That thing held on like it was on Velcro. When I was twenty five I bought my first new car. It was an ‘87 Escort GT. I had it for nine years and 153,000 miles. Now this comes to me in my late fifties like a grown up version with an eight speed automatic in time for my new hip like an old friend.

Raiti's Rides So I have an honest question for you Joe. In the video, you seemed to really like the Edge ST. I like the fact you were being open minded about the vehicle. However, would you actually trade in your RS for the Edge ST? Would your wife trade her Focus ST for this car?

I bought a used 2019 ST and I am very happy. One thing to watch is how the Intelligent AWD works. You can view this on the far left mini-screen. The AWD doesn't kick in unless needed. It does usually kick in on every acceleration from a stop. In slick roads like we get in the winter in Dallas, the IAWD does a great job of staying on when needed. Not sure how it works, but it works. I do wish there was a button to FORCE AWD, but if there is, I haven't found it. One reason I got the ST is for the built-in trailer hitch. I am now using it with my boat. At the dock, I put in the Sport mode just to give that extra little push out of the water. I haven't experienced any slippage of tires coming out of the ramp.
@jamesparrish961310 ай бұрын
If you double click the ESC button it should put the AWD into Advancetrac sport mode. Seem the make the AWD more active.

I really love this ST. I am owning a 2013 edge sport which uses a 3.7L V6 engine from Mustang. Comparing to most of other model SUVs in same level (family SUV), somehow when I was in S mode on the road I can feel kinds of fun from driving. As a family who has 2 kids, a mid-size SUV is at least necessary. If you can also get performance, that would be the greatest experience.

I placed a factory order for the Edge ST after watching this video. Ford does a great job marketing the ST, BUT they do a terrible job producing it. Salute to you sir another great video. To be honest I was disappointed in Ford when they redesigned the Edge for the 2018 exterior was 8 out of 10 in my book where as the 2019 looks more like a 4 out of 10 as far as the exterior. I wish they would have kept the 2018 exterior design and redesigned the interior which probably would have cut the cost bringing the price down. I saw a lot of plastic in the Edge which isn't the issue but in my opinion Ford doesn't know how to design plastic interior components in a modern way. They could take notes from Honda who tends to use plastic for the most modern of designs. Once again great video.

Geeze Joe, I no sooner get into Honda mode and I have to shift gears to Ford mode, AGAIN! lol Speaking of Honda, yeah I know, you're speaking of Ford, but how about YOU switching gears BACK to Honda and find us a new Ridgeline to review? Now, back to the Edge. You know what I like? The rear design/install of the trailer hitch mount. Functional and not obtrusive. A masterful overstatement of subtlety. Hey, I like details. Speaking of tails, maybe you should put a McLaren Longtail or Speedtail on your list. The video could be thumb nailed as: The Tail of Two McLarens, or The Tale of Two Tails. Okay, gotta run, Nurse Bertha is here with my meds. But I'llllllllll be back! Save the Wave.

Joe, Joe, Joe. Hey, I've been shoveling snow, snow and more snow. Yeah, Nurse Bertha has thrown in the shovel because SHE HAS TO WATCH RAITI's RIDES! You could be reviewing lug nuts for all she cares. 😎 As for me, no time or energy for "quickies" with a Camaro. I like low and slow with a Corvette. Plus, I have to stay FOCUSED in that you kept me of the EDGE of my seat with this one, even though it's ANOTHER FORD! Now, about this McLaren. I hope it's a LongTail or SpeedTail because I have a bottle of Yellow Tail that's reached it's peak of perfection and is calling to me. Speaking of "peaks," did you ever do Pike's Peak in your youth?
@RaitisRides6 жыл бұрын
Stay FOCUSED on the prize and you will be rewarded! I actually have the first KIA review coming today to Raiti's Rides. The McLaren is a medium tale that I am doing! I hope you like purple! I have never been to Pike's Peak but it is something I've always wanted to experience! Have you?

Oh, I'm staying focused. Funny you should mention the KIA. I actually have a KIA dealer close by and thought maybe I'd get a leg up on you and just walk through the lot and maybe come up with some questions for you. Now you announce there's a review later today. Hey, I'm now just gonna sit back and wait for your review in my shorts and slippers. Sure beats taking ten minutes to bundle up and go brave the elements. Now that's what I call being "focused." LOL As to Pike's Peak, no, never been. I only have 100 things on my bucket list, so why not 101? It seemed to work well for Walt Disney. LOL Until later . . . .

Nice. Like an affordable Raptor ish vehicle like the teo you featured previously, but more reasonably priced and toned down. It's a little more than the Buick Regal GS either all the options as well as a loaded Honda Ridgeline Black Edition, but more all out performance than the latter, and a little more than the GS, with the utility of the SUV body. You forgot to show the back seat and cargo area, maybe too excited to drive it. I agree with pretty much everything you said about the details. The front ST logo badge on the grill, the notch at the lower doors for the body cladding, which I believe is necessary to have clearance to open the rear door. The added trim that should have been on the center console and instrument panel. Hopefully the radio and sound system is up to snuff. I was raised with GM, but have been liking many of the Ford models lately, like the Taurus SHO, Explorer Sport, and Fusion Sport, but this is even better than the Fusion and not as big and bulky as the other two, though the heavy duty police vehicle variants are based on those. Like many old school performance buffs, other than being former Five-Oh here in Honolulu, police vehicles traditionally had the performance engines/transmissions, heavy duty chassis, suspension, steering, brakes and cooling, etc. My 2000 Chevy Impala LS and 2006 Impala SS were both designed to be police cars, so they were solid and safe, and had big 12" 4 wheel disc brakes. My SS with Flowmaster exhaust sounded really nice, and the 5.3L V8 was as fast as this, but this is a little bigger, and must handle much better. The stock brakes and wheels must be great, but you know, if it's available, the performance package is a gotta have, especially if you are already spending this much. This is seriously more tempting to get than that Buick Regal GS for the agressive performance gear over the already great GS, and more practical and probably not as expensive and bulky as the Chevy Tahoe RST. I will.probsblynget that Honda Civic Sport Sedan, and recently liking Subarus, but leery of the reliability if the Boxer engines, so will probably stick with the Hondas, or consider Toyotas if the add Android Auto. But now, if had the money to get a practical everyday vehicle in the $50K range and below, I would get this like today. And the Ford dealership in town is like a block away from from my church, and I live in the area up the mountain, and work a few miles away. Great review other than not detailing the stereo or rear seat and cargo areas.

I just found two other videos on this vehicle. Bang & Olufsen stereo, and looks like it might even have a CD player! Nice cargo space and hatch area buttons for the rear seat release. Nice black wheels with Brembo brakes, and looks great in Blue, my first choice of course. $55K fully loaded plus destination and dealer scalping fee... But at that price, reasonsble Chevy Camaro ZL1 oerfirmance for $20K less, and all the other goodies and confirm and utility and parking assist. Worth it. Now my #1 practical everyday driver if I had the resources. Great job from Ford for keeping up with all the performance and modern technology and safety.

Maybe an Escape ST would have been the more appropriate choice to replace the Focus ST, since the Escape platform is much lighter. Love your videos Raiti. You def make car reviews entertaining to watch. Ill make sure when i go buy a new car, im gonna ask them if they have a spot for my candy and twinkies lol. Raiti do yoh like the new taillights on the Ford Edge? I just recently got my fiancee a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium and i think the LED taillights look better on the 2016 edge. The leds wrapped around the taillights and went all the way across to the other side like the Dodge chargers had. Idk why ford got rid of that. I think the new ones look boring now on the backside

Round exhaust tips would look better than the small ones hidden inside the square like openings. All that wasted area around the info screen could have been used for a larger screen. Price is too high also. I give it a 7 out of 10.😩

I think they went with those exhaust outlets to really make it stand out from the crowd. I totally agree with you on the infotainment screen and the price! Thank you for watching!

I've said it before but I do believe there is a market for performance SUVs. That being said for Ford to kill off an entire lineup of affordable performance cars for a very loyal enthusiast group is just a plain bone headed move. I'm just really disappointed overall and the worst part is that their engineers when questioned are offering no information about what they are going to do to keep those said customers.

I'm pricing out various 2019 mid-size SUV's now and unfortunately, many of the SUV's in this class are all near or exceeding the high $40k and higher i.e Cadillac's X4 / X5, Grand Cherokee Limited / Overland, Chevy Blazer, Jaguar F type, ($60k+) BMW X5, ($65k+) etc.

We would love this to replace our 2014 Edge limited. It is a great car aside from issues with the AWD system.. It has 42k on the odometer so I'm going to get this looked at because if it's the same system that will be a point to not upgrade. Also issues with the transmission. I heard they only added 2 gears to the 6 speed they had already .. And with issues with the transmission saying the car is not in park when I clearly shifted to park is worrying but being an aware driver I tend to notice things.. Any tips you can give me to bring to the dealerships attention without making a fool out of myself? 😅

Pricey at $50,000 but it looks like Chevy is about to fleece the public in 2019 by advertising a $30,000 Blazer that with options similar to the ST will come to around $50,000 and the 3.6 L will not be as powerful as the 2.7 Ecoboost.

I think what happened they made this for grown folks that have a family or a lot of friends, who don't want to ride in a vehicle that was made for a teenager. What I mean a vehicle for a teenager is your Ford focus, Ford mustang, Ford fiesta all those vehicles have hardly any room for friends or family in the back. Say you want to take a long trip no one wants a ride in bucket seats for four or five hours straight. This is a perfect cross of sport and functionality.

Unfortunately the Ford edge (Or Endura as they called it here) was a complete flop over here in Australia but it was Ford Australia that caused it to be a flop. Firstly they removed the 2.7L engine and fitted a gutless 2L diesel engine and then overpriced it out of the market. It only lasted 2 years with no sales before Ford scrapped it. The Endura ST line as we called it is a beautiful looking SUV and has all the same features as you got over there in the USA it's just Ford Australia ruined it.

Vehicle driven to the test. Nice interior and exterior I like. However, despite the 238 hp in the car feels nothing progress. The acceleration behavior is significantly worse than comparable Mercedes, BMW or Audi with almost 60 hp less! In addition, it rappels in many places (dashboard right, crackling combi instrument, rattling B-pillar near underbody). And you can hear that even when the radio is on. Squealing the brakes in a vehicle that has driven nearly 2000km, is also not normal. Very high ad-blue consumption. In addition, the vehicle has probably been taken out of the production line. In any case, according to information from Ford as of July 2019, the vehicle will not be built until November 2019. What's going on there??
