I have a lot of experience with 4X4 vehicles in these types of conditions and can tell you it's tough. The ice gets under the tires and builds up under the vehicle and can stop progress very quickly or even bend and break things. The ice buildup at the exits of deep holes can even high center pretty high trucks. Add the unseen ruts and rocks and you can just imagine how hard it can be to get trough. I was impressed the Honda's performance in these conditions. Without a doubt the best testing of a SXS I've seen yet. It is a great detailed review. Keep up the great work. I'm sure a lot of Canadians enjoyed this considering the terrible weather we had for the end of hunting season in Atlantic Canada anyway.

Honda has always made a great product and you pay more for quality. This video you made was absolutely excellent and showed the UTV used in real world conditions.

Bought my 18' 1000-5 Deluxe nearly a year ago now, and I love it. It absolutely is the jack of all trades machine. It can play just as hard as it can work, and those back seats are perfect for kids or the occasional/infrequent passenger. I considered the X4, but the lack of dump bed was a con for me personally, and that's why I went with the Pioneer. Power and control is great, although I did find the gas pedal to be uncomfortable. Easy fix with a ThrottleMaxx pedal. I have an aluminum roof, Honda fabric mid-panel, 2 piece windshield, and Honda fabric door panels on mine, and it's definitely not a well closed in cab, but I find it comfortable to ride in the cold like that. Still have airflow, and the heat from the engine below will keep you warm. IMO, the Pioneer 1000-5 isn't for everyone, but it has it's purpose if it fits your lifestyle. For me and my family, it works great. Not to mention I'll probably buy a Talon in the next 2-3 years so I'll have the best of both worlds. :D

Honda's naturally run really cold which is good for reliability in the summer but yes in the winter you will end up with side effects like the transmission shifting really slow or longer startup time or for dirt bikes the clutch not working properly its nothing against honda it is just something i have noticed with every honda i have ever owed, rode or worked on (pioneer 1000, pioneer 500, 2017 rancher, 2008 rincon, 2006 Rubicon, 2002 cr 250, 1996 xr250)

I really wanted to buy the XP crew. I like my local dealer and salesman. I also like many of the XP options. The power of the XP is also awesome. The stock suspension is very supple. However, the XP throttle was too sensitive. The turning circle and ground clearance in the woods is horrible. The seat was way too high and upright for us (short people) and my wife couldn’t reach the floor. I was offered the 2021 XP crew premium for 17k. I tried out the Pioneer 1000-5 LE and happily paid full price. It was that much better for us. The quality of materials also felt better. I will say the lower models had a harsh ride. If you must have permanent seating for 4 plus people or an enclosed cab, then of course the Honda is a pass. Otherwise... no contest!

And it’s running a stage 3 tune and 27 inch Zillas. Also on my prowler 700 side by side it had 2100 miles when I sold it never once changed a belt on it either. Belts are great if you break them in properly and know when to use high or low.

Having over 2000 miles on my Honda 1000 here in Alaska I can honestly say it’s been great. Hauled entire moose and caribou with zero issues. Your hill test was lame. Hills I’m use too are a mile long and steep enough to be for goats only. Fully loaded it creeps down the steep hills without using brakes. The dead peddle is in a great position when descending steep hills and crossing deep water

On my Grandpa's Ranger they were loud and annoying but great for what they were made for, getting out of mud pits.
