The Bronco can definitely be looked at as a comparison to a new UTV, some of the new turbo Polaris PRO and Can-Am X3s are now $30k and technically not street legal, yes a bronco can not do what a SXS can do but you can drive all over the country in the Bronco to go off-road without having to trailer it everywhere and that has got me wanting a Bronco now.

@@tr-lj2vx Oh... my bad. I didn't realize that your view of what a "capable off-roader" is was so low. Yeah... a stock Subaru Outback is capable of going on some dirt/gravel roads and slighty off-road terrain. That's about it. I wouldn't exactly consider it an "off-roader," especially in comparison to other vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota FJ, and Ford Bronco. Perhaps your definition of what a "capable off-roader" is just happens to be lower than mine. That's okay, and I understand where you're coming from, but I just don't see it like you do. You also seem to think that this new Bronco isn't up to the task that the Jeep Wrangler is. I have seen videos that essentially prove otherwise, so I take what your saying as either ignorance or purposefuly blatant inaccuracy. We still don't know what the ceiling is for capability on the new Bronco. It's just too early to tell right now, as there are not very many units in owners hands as of yet. Once we see more of them out on difficult trails, we'll be able to get a good idea of what the vehicle is really capable of. You seem to think you know everything about the new Bronco and what it's limits are. I think you're incorrect and are jumping to conclusions far too quickly. We will see how the vehicle stacks up over time, but one thing's for certain: it shouldn't be lowered to the same level as a Subaru Outback.

@davep29453 жыл бұрын
They won't do it because for one they know what will happen. It's not a Ford versus Ram thing it's a simple matter of mechanics and vehicle size. The TRX power makes zero difference for slow off roading and Roman knows it but this is for entertainment purposes so it's a devil's advocate fest. As the terrain gets harsher and more narrow the Bronco wins by a mile. Just like the Wrangler would also destroy the TRX in any serious off road test. And, let's be honest, neither of these guys are extremely skilled off roaders willing to put their vehicles at significant risk. When Tommy says in the off road clip with the Bronco that he's on the skid plate but that's what they are there for he's right. But then he goes on to say "at least that's what I'm going with." As if to say maybe you're not supposed to hit the skid plates. Serious off roading is a contact sport and requires skid plates. But you can see this unwillingness to just test things when they always say tires make a difference but then never bother to try a pair of decent all terrains on the vehicle they suggest tires would make a difference on. Including vehicles they own. So just enjoy the footage and the scenery and use your discretion when trying to get any real information out of these videos because they are about entertainment not education. And I don't mean this as a dig on you but rather on them. And I hope one day they will do an all terrain tire test versus the tires that came with the vehicle like they did last winter with snow tires. That was actually valuable information.

@@tr-lj2vx The jeep isn’t the best built machine itself so I wouldn’t count the Bronco out if that’s your argument
@YoungSentrell3 жыл бұрын
@@tr-lj2vx Nawl even with IFS the Bronco has sway bar disconnects so it has almost the same amount of flex and still better on road. So the “broken axle” you saw was probably the disconnecting away bar. The jeep has been doing the bare minimum for years the Bronco made jeep step their game up that’s why it can now be available with a 392 hemi. The jeep is not miles ahead of the Bronco at all. The numbers are too similar to say that

I'm just not that impressed by the TRX let alone the RAM in general. The TRX just feels too gimmicky. I'd rather have a Raptor in the case of having a truck. In a couple of years I think the Bronco will be excellent as well when the kinks are ironed out.

Agree on the towing. It has to be a chassis suspension cause i think that same motor is rated up to 10k in other vehicles.

@ minute 8:15ish Hey, 0-60 does matter! I have to own a truck because of the work I do. I also tow a sports car, cargo trailer, and it’s my daily driver. Currently an F250 King Ranch. TRX has come up on my radar, because it’s as close to a truck “sports car” as I can get that has work chops and looks good (Raptor is a bit too Baja); I’m just concerned about the towing aspect. I love the new Bronco, but it could use some more oomph. Looking forward to what the Bronco Raptor will be equipped with. Point is as a potential customer I pay attention to 0-60 times and will not buy a vehicle that can’t do 0-60 in under 6.5 seconds (sea level), and would hope anything costing over $80k loaded out to be at minimum just under 6 seconds.

As far as the speed trial off-road, I think "old reckless" trumped "young careful". If they switched vehicles, I think the results would have changed, too. Otherwise, fun video. 100% Bronco for me.

Wouldn’t the Ram Rebel with the rear locker actually be a more practical vehicle then either the Bronco or TRX?

the trx also has a rear locker, just not a front or sway bar disconnect. It would be cool so see them using a ram power wagon, that has front, rear lockers and sway disconnect.

@@prsguitar6910 My point was just that a rebel is cost competitive, still has a hemi and the nice interior and is much cheaper on fuel then the trx.

2.0L Bronco Sport is actually quicker to 60 than the full-sized 2.7L V6 Bronco. The size of the full-sized Bronco just kills it. People talk bad about the Bronco Sport, but it really is the best option for people that want an ultra capable daily driver. Comparing the Bronco to the TRX was fun. If money were no object the TRX would be my choice.

You can easily beat the TRX for towing, or hauling with any regular full size truck for about half the price. You can beat the TRX in off-road performance with a Jeep or Bronco. So unless you are drag racing your pickup, or doing high speed off-road driving not sure what the point is.

TRX all day long because you can go to work than you can tow 8,000 pounds than you can go off-roading with all the jeeps than you can pick up your kid from soccer practice than you can tow your drag racer car to the drag strip and than you can beat your drag racer car with your tow vehicle than after all that you can go on a nice dinner with your family. It's perfect for everything besides MPG.

I'm glad Tommy called out the 3,500 lbs towing as crap on the Bronco! That's the #1 reason I won't buy one. I want to offroad, but I need to be able to tow my boat as well. No one expects huge tow ratings for an off road vehicle, but 5,000-7,000 lbs isn't asking too much.

Personally, I’d take the TRX any day of the week. It’s just a matter of personal preference though and how you will use the vehicle. Only 2 of my 5 trucks and SUVs had 4WD. Why? You don’t really need 4WD in the south, especially Las Vegas. My 2WD Mercedes Suv is a concrete cowboy. 4WD would never be used, cost more, weight more, and decrease my gas mileage. It’s just a 3.5 V6, but with 302hp and 7-spd auto, it is fast. Always get guys in big pickups wanting to race me. Then I’ll just embarrass them lol. But for me and me situation, it’s just the right vehicle. Did a short road trip yesterday and got 24.7mpg. Not bad considering she’s loaded up at 5,000 pounds.
