As a Thai native myself, her version is definitely authentic. She has captured the core ingredients and processes. Just about every Thai person who makes any Thai dish has their own versions of it. I have come back to this video many times. My best trick for turmeric stains is to quickly blot off any spills. If on clothes, hand sanitizer or liquid laundry soap and gently scrub with a soft bristle toothbrush or damp rag and let it soak 10 minutes. Wash in washing machine on cold water to avoid setting stain. Dry on low heat or line dry since sun will help fade pigment. Dishes can soak in a 2:1 ratio of water and vinegar with some dish soap for half an hour then drain and wash. 1:1 ratio of baking soda and water on counter tops or cutting boards and spread over stain and let sit 20 minutes then gently scrub with microfiber cloth or soft toothbrush and rinse off.

Made this tonight using the recipe from 'Thai Hot Kitchen'. It is a winner! I have made 2 recipes from your book so far (only had it 3 days). This is the first Satay recipe that have tested that I can say was not a disaster. I didn't think it was possible to make something so nice at home. There is a heat wave here in the UK and this was the perfect meal to grill outside. I only marinated the pork for 8 hours and I think it could have used more time. I was amazed at how the meat 'soaked' up all of the marinade. This is a wonderful recipe. Thank you so much for your book! Great instructions that I followed step by step. My wife has amazed when she tasted this. Good Work!

Thankyou so much for this recipe! I tried this, and was very pleased with the results. I've been trying to find a satay recipe for years and this met the mark. Initially I was disappointed as you didn't list the ingredients in the description, or add proper measurements. But whilst making it, I realised this was to allow us to tailor it to our own tastes. This tastes exactly like satay I order from Asian takeaways. I substituted the tamarind juice for lemon juice mixed with sugar.

But, the taste is really good, i mean REEEAAAALLYYY good.. and My Husband liked them so much, and I've found this recipe (and so many others Thai's cuisine recipes) in your channel makes me so happy, because I can make them at home and eat them whenever we miss Thailand's food.. Hi Pailin! I have done 2 of your recipes and looovvvvvveeee them both. I did yoir roasted Thai chicken (which has been my favorite since and has done it for a number of times, shared the recipe with my sister too and she too loved it) Recently tried your peanut sauce and my partner and I think it is soooo goood that you can eat it with rice alone! I tried a different satay recipe because I thought beef should be treated differently from pork, somehow regreted it cuz it was too salty so I should probably do yours next time! Dont stop sharing your recipes! You make cooking a lottttt easier! Kudos!!!

I used to eat in a Thai restaurant when I was in London that served the best chicken satay ever, with two sauces, one peanut and another one that looks very much like your pickles. I wasn't able despite visiting any Thai restaurant I could come across back in Switzerland, to find that second sauce again. Could it be your pickels presented more as a sauce (more vinegar, a little less cucumber) or does another sauce exist. I know. It is quite vague. But I'm desperate to find it again since 15 years... Btw just discovered you channel, I just love everything, the ideas, the way you speak about food (the shrimps head in the Tom Yam video just killed me) and the fact that you explain how to make everything, like 5 spices. Most books or channels just tell you to buy the mixture. It's ok ifs you are in a hurry, but that not the real thing and taste.
