Police automatically think that everything they do is for the best and they know the best way to do something. Such thought processes is called the Dunning Kruger effect. Where someone has a little bit of knowledge but thinks they know everything. People of low ability tend to believe they are more skilful than they actually are. PC4773 is an example of this. He thinks he's the expert and that though there are millions of the public and the likelihood that they will actually know what to do in this situation doesn't cross his single brain cell. He doesn't think that people who don't know what to do will stay away and only people who can be of help will get involved. Oh no, he will tell such helpful people that they aren't helping and that they are interfering in his very very important job.

Well done AB. I'm glad you were there to make sure the two ladies were ok. Especially when the nurse left and it was just the three police officers. That could have went either way. Problem is you don't know who you'll be dealing with with the police force. It could be a decent human being but unfortunately could very likely be an ego driven maniac with zero empathy. Congratulations on your apology from West Mercia. Maybe considering you were already filming when this actually occured you may get one from Thames Valley too. Although I wouldn't hold my breath for that old boy. Prayers rising for that young lassie. I've been in the exact same situation as her myself and if she ever reads this... I promise things can get so much better for you and one day you'll be living a life so good you could never have imagined at your lowest point. If you look after you and keep going.

Going to half disagree with everybody here and I'll give a reason why I think most of you will understand. Pretend like you don't know who AB is and there is some dude following and filming your sister or daughter at night time. Before the guy says anything what would reaction be? I can bet that your reaction would be anger. What the hell is this dude filming my daughter going through a mental health crisis and what the hell does he intend to do? Where I part company with the cop is that he should have gotten over this instinct professionally when he realised that AB was concerned and would help. That was idiotic, but if the officer was feeling the way I described initially it at least explains that his anger came from a different place, not necessarily because he wanted to protect the police against any oversight.
@silver48312 жыл бұрын
He didn't sound concerned. He was trolling and using police time.
@walterhess81472 жыл бұрын
Recent cases of "officers" sharing pictures of the bodies of violated and deceased women on whatsapp, and this idiot has the gall to tell AB to leave? Members of the public need to be there at all times to make sure the sausages don't indulge in their sick fantasies.

With first hand experience of such crises, I can say that police are a trigger for many, and unfortunately the Mental Health Act that has needed overhauling for many years can make people panic about being essentially imprisoned. Having someone like AB there would make many feel safer, especially in a dark place at night with uniformed officers.

You absolutely did the right thing by staying and filming AB. A person in crisis is not safe around the police or even the NHS these days. The police didn't look like they were there to help her.

The copper wanders around with a camera as standard kit, but doesn't understand why it's important to film things. He instantly gets offensive / abusive when somebody else has a camera, whilst talking about compassion / respect. Complete and utter vacuum head, the self-appointed sole arbiter of all things, they should really give him a red cape.

Does anyone understand the difference between standing 3 metres away, zooming up to someones face and mocking them whilst live streaming on facebook... and someone respectfully standing a good distance away, not trying to get the persons face and just recording the event?! Seems the police doesn't!!!

Any idea what's going on here? The puzzling part for me is how the nurse left her to the police,what was the nurse even doing there in the first place? I'm glad you were there AB ,anything could be happening here and the police saying she is "in crisis" doesn't mean anything.

This is the first time I think you got it really wrong AB. Don't turn in to MB just for content. You should have walked away from that one.
