Even though she's doing her best, her huge mistake is trusting Perla so much just because Perla has working with Laura for 6 years and treating her like her kid. However, Perla only cares for her money, noticed that every time Laura breaks down, Perla didn't do anything to comfort her or apologize for her mistakes. Once Gordon tasked Laura and Perla to cook fresh, you can see Laura is very excited while Perla looks confused. And the last dinner service proof that Perla is a total mess because she has no idea how to cook fresh since she's always get tasked to use microwave very often.

I'm not going to med school, but what I heard it's actually showing how you should respect to customer not by standing in front of them. To show how the customer is the king and you as the servers should put your position down to them.
@Proserpira3 жыл бұрын
@@margarethmichelina5146 Oh uh, no not at all. To explain, this is something that works on the mentally ill, the elderly, children and drug addicts. It's entirely psychological. By crouching down to or below a person's eye level, you show that you aren't taking a position of superiority. To explain, imagine you can't stand and you're extremely frustrated about that and your lack of movement. You're angry and upset and you can't do anything about it. Separately, two nurses come towards you to say you just have to wait a bit more. Nurse A, who has been in the job for decades and is one of the alarmingly large amount of healthcare workers who for some reason hates dealing with people, says this whilst standing. She is looking down at the resident (we don't use the term customer where I am!) from above. This position implies several things: 1) I am above you 2) I am an authority 3) I do not have time for you 4) I don't care about you as an individual. Nurse B, who is fresh out of med school and was taught to not listen to Nurse A, crouches down so her eyes are below the resident's. This gives off these impressions: 1) I am hear to help _you_ 2) I am taking the time to listen and to understand 3) I am not above you, I'm just a human like you 4) I am happy to be with you If you ever have an elderly person or a child who is being aggressive or is upset, try it. It's like a switch, they immediately calm down a little because they realise someone is willing to listen. Also about my examples: yes i am indeed extremely biased

@@saidaguy69, not everyone is the same and Perla was clearly unable to work as a head chef properly, she can't call out the orders and she can't cook, then she starts crying about it because she can't handle the pressure. What Happened to Mama Rita's? We are told at the end of the show that after Gordon left Naris stayed for a few weeks to help get the restaurant off the ground. Perla was removed as Head Chef for the restaurant but continued working in the catering side of the business. However, Perla actually remained as Head Chef after being trained by Naris in the following weeks. Laura reverted back to her old menu, abandoning Gordon's menu. Yelp reviews were mostly positive after filming with a handful of 1/2 star reviews. Mama Rita's closed in December 2010 but the catering business was still in business for a number of years. After the closure, Laura managed Mission Oaks Cafe in Camarillo, CA and Yelp reviews were average. Mission Oaks Cafe closed in June 2019. Mama Rita's aired on March 19 2010, the episode was filmed in May 2009 and is Kitchen Nightmares season 3 episode 8.

Perla: can’t cook anything that isn’t frozen Laura: talks talk, will not walk walk Also Laura: has a very weird relationship with her dead-eyed ‘chef’ L&P: threw away nearly 2 million on a ‘restaurant’ in less than a year. It doesn’t quite add up. Something fishy about this one. Either Perla had Laura over a barrel in some way, or their relationship was more than just friends…or maybe both. Very very odd. Can’t believe that after all that happened, Laura would rather keep Perla on, revert right back to what they were doing before Gordon came, and close a few months later. Makes absolutely ZERO sense. Right. I can't fathom it either. The restaurant was dead within a month of opening, and they limped on with hideous food for six years. Why on earth is Perla Laura's "saviour"? He's expressed often in interviews how ungrateful this show was. When the restaurant fails, he's blamed, when it succeeds, he isn't praised. Personally, I have to disagree with that. Maybe snobby reviews will say so, but the fans of the show understand nuance. I believe at the very least, even if they close, if he manages to keep them open successfully for another year, another 2 or even 3 years, he's helped them bridge the gap of the often massive debt that they're in, and at times I'm sure even enables them sell the place to clear the debt entirely. I find this is Gordon Ramsay's best show. I think it's genius. I feel any entrepreneur would be doing himself a service to watching them.

Unfortunately, Mama Rita’s has since closed their doors. Following the celebrity chef’s visit, Chef Naris stayed to help with the restaurant’s relaunch. As mentioned earlier, Perla, the head chef was also removed from her position, which allowed her to go back to work on the catering side of things. For a period, the restaurant seemed to do well. With time, however, Chef Naris left and Laura went back to their old ways. Not only did they go back to using frozen food, but they allegedly also decreased portion sizes, which led to a number of mixed reviews online. In 2011, Mama Rita’s officially closed. With that said, however, Laura’s catering business is going strong. In fact, she has since launched a new restaurant, Mission Oaks Cafe in Camarillo California.

She couldn't draw the line between being her Boss and her (Girl) Friend 😅....

So, after Gordon and Narris left, they went back to the original menus and they went back to defrosting food again! So, she'd rather poison her customers than making her business more succesful. No wonder the place got closed.

@@markiec8914 I was wondering the same thing about them two, she was toooooo close to Perla. See the way she strokes her. Weird as a boss

@@Emma-rg8pn In the beginning of the video, the narrator said that Laura is a single mom and we never see her kid for the entire time probably because her kid is still too small or she hides her privacy. But, the way she threates Perla like her kid than her own kid it's totally creepy.

As for Mama Rita’s old location, it has since become an Italian restaurant called The Local Table. With the number of positive reviews that they’ve received on Yelp, it’s probably fair to say that they’re doing fairly well for themselves.

@@smsmsmsmsmsm But Mission Oaks lasted for 9 years and it closed at 2019. I assumed Laura didn't put Pearla anymore and not used defrosted food on her cafe because 9 months in Mama Rita's Pearla made her suffer financially and they used defrosted food.

UPDATE GUYS After Gordon's Departure However, eventually Perla was back to being head chef and Laura abandoned Gordon's menu. Mama Rita's closed in 2010, but the catering side lasted much longer. Now Laura is marketing her own line of salsa.

A part of me feels that Perla influenced Laura to go back to her original menu
