When killers are found with wounds on their arms, hands or face, it creeps me out so much. The final mark of someone who was literally fighting for their life only to ultimately lose it. It’s gut wrenching and makes me literally nauseous.

A couple of things I've learned, after several year of KZbin true crime binging. One: it's not a mannequin. It's never a mannequin. Two: the interrogator who assures you that they don't think you're a bad person actually thinks that you're a very, very bad person.
@whitneyangelie3682

Except sometimes it really is a mannequin lol they just don’t make Dateline stories about people finding mannequins out in the woods- I know because it happened to me, but in my case I just assumed it was a dead body (I obviously watch too much true crime) but yea no, it was just a mannequin . 🤣🤣🤣

I get a creepy feeling that this wasn't the first time she'd murdered someone. She did all of this on her own. She wasn't an athlete, she wasn't superhuman, she didn't panic until they'd already announced that she was wanted for questioning. Everything about this shows a woman who's done this before and had a process. I hope someone is going back through her history of identities and the cities she's lived in to look for unsolved cases.

so glad people are talking about this!!! this happened in my hometown and Kimberly kessler used to work for my mom but my mom fired her because she was stealing money from the hair salon! i hope one day justice is served and joleen is found. edit: when my mom fired her they had a huge argument that resulted in kimberly throwing things at my mom. it’s terrifying because my mom could’ve been the one that was missing. i could be without my mom, not knowing her whereabouts. i’m grateful that nothing happened to her, but heartbroken about what happened to joleen. and i can’t imagine what her family is going through.

HOLY SH*. I’ve just realized that my uncle dated this woman in the early 2000s. I am not even kidding. I just told my stepmother that I’d gone down a true crime rabbithole since I got COVID and it made her think to ask me if she’d ever told me the story of the crazy woman her brother dated who ended up being convicted of murder. She HAD told me this story, years ago. But this time as she talked, I began to realize, hey, I’ve seen a video about this recently. This woman, known to my uncle as Jennifer, scared him so badly that he ended up leaving town to stay with my parents in Athens for months. He had woken up one night to find she’d broken into his home and was standing at the foot of the bed, just staring at him. 😳

Thank you for that good news. It really makes me angry the amount of time and money that is wasted on evil people. It's not fair on the victims families to see the accused treated with kid gloves and the proceedings dragged on and on. They don't need a motive.They don't need a body. The evidence was overwhelming. Nowadays there is too much PC and too much emphasis on criminals rights and rehabilitation.

Michelle Knight, Ariel Castro's first abduction victim and the one held captive the longest of the three girls was NEVER reported missing by her family....and her Mother was babysitting her 2 year old son when she disappeared. The saddest part of that story was learning that she had permanently lost custody of her child through no fault of her own and even after her release and recovery, the State refused to allow her to contact the family who ultimately adopted him. Nobody looking for Michelle is what emboldened Castro to abduct his next two victims as well! Can you imagine? Michelle wrote a book (which I bought and read) about her ordeal and so far has been the only one to publicly speak about it. She deserves better than what life has dealt her, poor thing.

Lorie Flickinger I know. That was crazy but when I watched the documentaries. Michelle Knight’s parents saw her as “a runaway” as “troubled” that between those horrible years, 2002 and 2004, they never bothered with their daughter because they said they were used to her disappearing. WHICH IS SO SCARY! Perfect example of someone who was never reported as missing. So the advise continued.

Hey Mike, just an update on this case. I live in Jacksonville, pretty close to where the crime happened. Kimberly Kessler is currently starving herself to death in prison. She went from 200 pounds to now being only 88 pounds. The courts have no legal means to stop her from committing suicide by starvation as she was found competent by multiple mental health providers. Good riddance I say, I just hope she tells people what happened to Joleen before she offs herself. Sadly, I don't think she will. Keep up the great videos, I really enjoy them.

second update: last week, they threatened to have a judge set a precedence to force Kessler, who now weighs 74 lbs, to undergo mandatory medical treatment to get her weight up. That weekend she "binged" on food to manipulate the judge into thinking she has stopped her suicide attempt and was back to eating again. She went into court and cursed and yelled at the judge to no avail. She was found, again, to be competent to stand trial. She keeps trying so hard. LOL

I have an MA in forensic psych. This is a common misconception. Knowing right from wrong is the legal definition of sanity, not legal competency. Insanity is a defense or mitigating factor to someone who admits to having committed a crime. You can be sane and still be incompetent to stand trial. Competency is determined by a separate evaluation. The party must understand the legal process and be able to participate in their own defense. She has a delusion that her attorney was related to Cummings which affected her ability to aid in her defense, as she kept undermining her attorneys.
