That will never happen. Ford is charging this much money for two reasons. 1) This is the most feature packed equipped base truck in the half ton segment. 2) They Can. People are willing to finance these trucks for 72 months and longer for damn near house payments. These trucks won't come down in price until trucks simply are no longer as popular as they are today. Remember regardless of brand, half ton trucks have been the #1 selling vehicle in America since at least 2015. Add the success of the midsize and compact truck segments, prices are not coming down for a long time.

Still have my 2002 GMC. I have no legitimate reason to get a new truck with a bunch of stuff I don't need. Of course, if was a battery powered truck it would be died several years ago.

a basic work truck does not need all the electronic garbage (all electrical stuff is about the cheapest part but cost the most)all you need is A C a radio and cruise control extra, a new basic price for a full size should be 10/15 % above actual cost

No truck maker is going to leave that much money on the table. They are going to put stuff in them that will cause them to sell quickly. Putting all these features in a base truck is a smart business move. They will sell every one they make. For every person who won't buy one, there are ten who will gladly pay $750 a month for 80 months.

Sorry to say Chevy's WT ($49,125) beats Ford's XL ($51,430.00). I get Adaptive Cruise Control including all the tech safety features too. You have to get the XLT trim before you match Chevy's entry-level. It's not your fault, it's Detriot management. Oh, I gave you a thumbs-up on the presentation. Ford offers XL 5.0 V8 SWB over Chevy's 1500 I4 TURBOMAX SWB, and RAM doesn't offer SWB trucks. Also of note is to get adaptive cruise control on a RAM pickup you're forced to select Laramie.

Good review but I just couldn't pay that for a new car any car! However I never buy new. I look for others to take the depreciation hit then buy one a few yrs old but low mileage. Even those are overpriced usually but I buy from individuals usually and often they will budge a little especially if you point out any flaws. I usually get $500 to $1000 off. Not everyone will budge. I always check the kelly Blue book before I buy so I dont get ripped or and nada. This new one does look nice just not sure about the new dash yet.

I'll take it, nice truck! Yes, pricey for a base model, but now their base model isn't so base. And this is better than dropping +$60K on higher level models. I like what Ford did.

Just to be clear - the FACTORY Window sticker shows the MSRP from Ford as $51,430. We as a Dealership sold this truck at or below MSRP around the same time this video was posted.

I've priced it in Canada...Northern Alberta...almost 60,000.00 by the time you get it off the lot...For a 2 wheel drive ,V8 xL...what a joke! When they get down to 38,000.00 out the door let me know..I have cash saved..but I will absolutely not pay that ridiculous price!!!!

Get used to it people.. 50K is standard entry level for Crew Cab.. The Coyote 5.0 will help with the Sales. Yeah yeah they were 30k 10 years ago.. Homes were also 120K cheaper. Go cry there too. Groceries fuel everything was cheaper before. Consumers are getting EFfed and theres nothing we can do…. Dont say not to buy them because they will sell.. and sell a lot of F150’s….

Not a better base madel! When they raise the entry price almost $5k for things that the base customer doesn't want you make it worse. Fleet customers want the truck to do the job for the least money possible. That includes initial purchase and maintenance and up keep. Not to mention ford just added yet another emissions hurdle for us to deal with with active cylinder shut off. Ask gm how that worked out for them....
