Lexus/Toyota engineers realized from testing European sports cars that full body rigidity was key to high speed dynamic handling (not sure why it took all these years!). Thus front & rear bracing was added, a mid-underbody bracing was not possible due to existing LC 500 design limitations. A new LC 500 model successor is needed!

As a ‘24 owner who’s not retired, it needs a few things that I consider low hanging fruit, as they’re found in convertibles 1/3 of its price. It needs an ambience package like Mercedes or Camaros, and not dim the lights when on the go, or at least make it configurable. I had a Camaro rental in Hawaii and it was sweet being able to start bringing the top down remotely as I’m approaching the car such that it was ready to go by the time my wife and I were in it. The climate control settings need to be in the same context or at least a click/touch away from setting seat and steering ventilation settings. It sucks that the button near the shifter takes us to the seat ventilation settings but have to then figure out how to navigate to A/C settings. Paddle shifters are plastic, and super cheap feeling with respect to how heavy the steering and the car is. They need to be metal. Even Logitech steering wheels for gaming have this option. Bonus for being able to shift with the shifter, arcade style. Lastly, it doesn’t make sense for there to be no spec higher possible than what I got, yet there’s still empty button placeholders on the left of the steering wheel like a cheap base Toyota. I recommend either a knob to adjust the subwoofer or the vibrancy of the ambient lighting package it needs. Not so low hanging fruit would of course entail integrating the touch display into the dashboard. A 22” wheel option would be sweet.
@edmundcharles5278Ай бұрын
Sorry the paddles ARE NOT PLASTIC, Esther these are a magnesium metal which is super light, do lighter the metal c as n float on water! If you want to talk improvements: a larger/deeper trunk that can fit 10 cubic feet of storage; another cup holder; sunglasses holders; folding rear seats; massage seats; more interior colors; smartphone storage/ charging area.

@@edmundcharles5278magnesium? they feel so ...cheap. Perhaps it's the feedback. There is none, and I guess I'm expecting a pull. Though a charging area would be appreciated.

Always on Technology? Let me explain. I just picked up my new 2025 LC500 with Dynamic Handling Package on 1-8-2025. I also have a White 2023 LC 500 base model. I watched your video before picking up my new 2025 LC500 now after driving it I re-watched your video and now I understand what Lexus is saying. Lexus didn't put the "Under Body Struts" to update the car. They HAD TO put the underbody struts because of the updated Dynamic Handling Package v2.0. Always on Variable Gear Steering and Variable Rear Wheel Steering Drive Connection. It's not four-wheel-drive, but it is Four-Wheel Steering. It used to be the rear tires would turn when you were going at a certain slow miles per hour than they would turn on when you were going at a certain highway speed. Now it's on full-time and it's connected to the weight of the variable gear steering wheel and the rear wheel steering. With my 2023 LC500 all I do is listen to the roar of the exhaust like everyone else, But with my 2025 LC500 and with the added new dynamic handling package and the under body brace. The steering wheel is HARDER to turn, but with the Variable Gear-Ratio Steering working in tandem with the Active Rear Steering which is always on at any speed, now doing a left turn instead of having to turn the steering wheel halfway around to make a left turn and I have to take one of my hands off of the paddle shifters to make the the turn, all I do is turn the steering wheel 3 inches to the left to make the turn, and while in manual mode my hands never have let go of the paddle shifters because I never have to turn the steering wheel that far around. The car feels a lot heavier and PLANTED to the ground, but it's not heavier. I'm actually feeling the road with the weight of the steering wheel. I'm also not listening at the V8 sound anymore. My attention for now is wanting to drive my new LC500 around twisty turns. To get used to this. I've driven an older LC500 with the dynamic package. It did NOT feel like this. The new always on LEXUS PHILOSOPHY is on from 1mph to 158mph. The Dynamic Handling Package must put SO MUCH STRESS on the chassis they needed the braces underneath. Also, on the 2025 there's half the customization as there was before. You can't turn any of this on or off. I also have the dealership turn off the SOS, Data Management collection box, Navigation and the AT&T Wi-Fi. They collected so much data that they allegedly sold it to my insurance company last year with my 2023 LC 500 and my insurance went up. I had them turn that Car's data management off. Also. I bought 2 new Apple iPads 11 inch M4's with the "Nano Screen" with cellular connectivity and mounted each one right underneath the 2025 touchscreen with a magnet & 2023 right where the middle of the air conditioning vents are. There are KZbin videos to configure iPads as perfect Apple CarPlay screens with widgets and extra large Apps, Maps, Weather, and so on. * Carbon fiber roof * TOMS Performance brake pads* * Rear performance damper * Carbon Fiber Door Scuff Plates * Variable Gear-Ratio Steering * Active Rear Steering * Torsen®* limited-slip rear differential * Alcantara®-Trimmed Headliner * Sport Seats with Alcantara®*-Trimmed Inserts * Speed-activated rear wing

It is ironic that if most automobiles had kept the the old body-on-frame chassis build process, there would be no chases flexing or the need to provide such structural bracing since body-on-frame construction provides an inherent rigidity and firm-fixed body frame. There are engineering compromises to be sure with body-on-frame chases construction, but there are also engineering construction compromises with the prevalent uni-body construction as well. Just a passing thought everyone!

Its a very capable car but they didn't design it with that in mind, which is odd considering this was Akio's baby. Having been a Lexus owner (IS350, which underwhelmed me), I would consider making Lexus into a 2-Tier luxury brand. Think Lexus and Lexus Elite. Lexus should have 3-4 vehicles that stand above vehicles like the RX and ES. Give the volume model owners something to aspire to.
