Thanks for the video. First person I’ve seen so far talking consumption. Now, 14 mpg is just 3 mpg better than my TRX. I bet when you press it you’ll be down at 13 or even 12. I live in Europe so gas consumption is important, still I’ll rather pay a bit more for V8 supercharged 🚀

25% better fuel economy is VERY significant when it comes to trucks. As he states, that is an additional 100 miles (not kiliometers) of range lol. I'll take that over a thirsty TRX😂

They could really go for some heritage points here with an SRT-6 to signal off to the old SRT-10, make it RWD with an LSD, with a 540hp engine, give it the goofy spoiler, might I say... a third pedal? Lowered, stiff suspension, wide, low profile summer tires. Just make the thing a burnout machine like the original from 2001. They'd be uncontested. Sure it would be a sin to have 4 doors, but they could make it double cab for weight reduction. Honestly I could see them making it weigh less than the SRT-10, as that had to carry around the 8.0v10, which was a monstrously heavy v10 and made the truck stupid nose heavy. This would actually have a better weight balance, especially if they pulled some tricks like carbon fiber hoods and roofs to lower center of gravity. Of course they'd have to have an AWD version so that way they could get TRX level 0-60, but come on a RWD drag truck would be awesome. Maybe we'd see a Silverado SS with similar treatments. 6.2 with the corvette 485hp hp performance intake and exhaust and slightly higher rpms, Magride and lowered suspension ect. Ford would have to take the mustang version of the 5.0 with the 7500rpm redline. Benefit of the high revving v8 would be the lack of low end torque, so in real 0-60 attempts, it could actually keep the tires stuck to the ground vs making a could of smoke. Ford's other advantage is they'd be ballsy enough to make it a reg cab truck where the other two would most likely do crew only.

Seems the best value truck for 2025. It's certainty a step from the Raptor, in terms of performance and luxury. I own a Gen 2 Raptor and decided to order an RHO this week. Looks like a 4 month wait

Definitely cool. Concerned with the reliability from a clean sheet engine from Stelantis, but if its reliable, maybe it can be really nice. Dodge does a great job with these trucks.

If they would make a Dakota version of that truck to fight the Ranger raptor. RAM and Jeep need to get onboard with what the people want not a government party. No dipstick in hurricane engines are really properly pizzing me off... like our technology have never issues... what, is it also gvt mandate to spend more on "monitoring system" instead simple meter of oil level so we don't have to hope for the best the monitoring system works
@christiandulaney163816 күн бұрын
Im glad you brought that up! I dont trust a sensor to tell me about my oil pressure. Its just asking for a catastrophic engine failure. I can see engines burning up.
@AAutoBuyersGuide16 күн бұрын
While I prefer a dipstick, this is a growing trend. Toyota has even started doing this on some new engines as well. There is no government mandate on this, it's apparently just a reality that new car buyers tend to not ever check the oil themselves, so instead of waiting for a low-pressure sensor to pick up an issue, car companies have decided that drivers need a sensor and warning system to tell them it's getting low.

@ALMX5DP17 күн бұрын
Pretty cheap. Summit has some options and probably just an afternoons worth of work to get it sorted out.
@jeffdiggs631817 күн бұрын
@@ALMX5DP The true point is the underlying question of why did they build an engine without an oil dipstick? To solely rely on electronic means of checking your oil level is FUBAR; a dipstick can also give you an indication as to the 'health' of your oil. BMW tried it years ago...and put it back in.
@ALMX5DP17 күн бұрын
@@jeffdiggs6318 I can think of a few reasons, one of which being to help people who don’t or aren’t familiar with checking their own oil. This can notify them if they are running low. Yes it’s designing to the lowest common denominator but such is the world we live in today. But it’s not a big deal like I mentioned since a dipstick can be fairly easily installed DIY style.
@AAutoBuyersGuide16 күн бұрын
BMW isn't wholesale going back to dipsticks, they brought it back on the 4.4L V8, but they seem pretty committed to not having one on future I6, I4, and I3 engines. Apparently few customers actually ever used them.
