I love watching your channel. I happened upon it 3 in the morning while crocheting tiny stars for my Christmas tree. Unfortunately I can not learn to knit. I have had lessons for years and my brain just can not grasp the concept. My Gran who was of Dutch and English heritage knit beautifully. I did not inherit her talent. I crochet well and even create my own designs. Oh well. We can’t have it all. That lovely VW is becoming clearer! 2012 the two princes finally found a tree but then the 1968 VW Beetle chariot broke down They rode home in style on the back of a tow truck, Arnie commemorated the princes’ journey with a lovely embroidery, that is hidden under the sweaters.

As per the tip on how to begin knitting the Christmas ball, I cast on all the stitches on 1 needle and divide it on 3 needles. After 3-4 rows, I transfer to a 4th needle. A good way to avoid a lot of frustration. And Arne, you know, you are so good at a lot of things that not loving cooking, is not so bad. I love to cook, not my boyfriend, but he makes the best mashed potatoes (he is the king). *** My guess that the pattern on the plate under the sweaters may be the one on a Christmas card that Arne's mother sent to her mother a long time ago. It could have a picture of a Setesdal traditional costume on it, where his grandmother is from. ***

I was laughing during the discussion of the pastry cups because in the 1980s my mother used to make them with tuna in a cream sauce for a "special" dinner. We kids thought it was very fancy, but I imagine it was just tuna stirred together with cream of celery soup, because that's how "fancy" cooking got in small town Midwest US. So much fun to watch you two banter playfully. 😃

You nailed it! But here we traditionally use fishloaf, minced white fish cooked like a meatloaf, and for this fancypants dish the fishloaf is cut into cubes and mixed with white sauce or roux as the french would say, then this «fancy» dish is ladled into pastryshells together with some overcooked veggies, and then it is decorated with fresh shrimps or gravlax etc on top. Very common starter in weddings etc back in the 70’s and 80’s 😅

That was favourite xmas ball, like the red. Arne I always forget to tell you that you gave me the best tip for knitting socks. I only get one hole on the left side where you start picking up stitches for the instep. I pick up the stitch under the stitch on the needle and that is the last stitch of the instep stitch. Every time I am so amazed that it works and I have no more holes and it reminds me of Arne. Carlos I wish I can cook like you. I always have KZbin on in the kitchen when I heat up our meals. I spy a wheel! I’m guessing it is the wheel from a VW Beetle. Our first car, when I was a child in the 1970s, was a bright orange Beetle. It’s number plate began with JLM, so we called the car Jolly Little Motor. We even made up songs about it, mainly along the lines of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It had a very small engine and it found going up hills quite challenging when fully loaded with luggage on the roof rack and lots of holiday passengers. To begin with we always went to Cornwall, which has a fair few hills, but somehow we swapped Cornwall for Norfolk for our holidays after a few years 😂🧡🧡🧡 happy memories of Jolly Little Motor 🧡🧡🧡
