It really bugs me that the GPU exhaust tube (or is that the intake tube? It's the one that goes down and to the front of the chassis) isn't quite bent at a right angle. 😂 That being said, I'm sure bending tubes isn't easy in and of itself because not only do you have to get the bends right, you also have to get the lengths right while also taking the bends and the path of the tube into account.

Found my 3080TUF PCB to be ever so slightly warped/bent after installing the EKWB (close to the in/out ports). Card worked fine luckily. I did give a heads up to EK about it and decided to leave it like this. Looked like the memory modules around the gpu chip itself pushes to hard against the waterblock once tightened. They say do not overtighten, but the bolt is only secured when you reach the point where the PCB makes contact with the standoffs that are on the waterblock, and I would expect the clearance to be designed for that. Maybe its normal behaviour but I almost cried when I noticed the issue hahaha. Waited 9 weeks on the damn thing, but again, its still working fine

Hey man, finally got time over to put my ROG Strix 3090 under water. The GPU temps are fantastic what has me worried is the VRAM temps and how hot the backplate gets. I am seeing temps around 98c with HWMonitor. I don't know what the reference cooler was getting but this is wayy too hot for my liking. Would love to hear what you're getting in terms of temps so I know if its just something up with my backplate. The actual GPU temp is 32c idle and 44c during load so nothing wrong there just the backplate/VRAM temps seem to be insane. Here's hoping EKWB releases the active backplate since this is rather insane. Also, there is noticeable coil whine but I sort of expected that, its not too bad just more evident then before.

Slightly worried that the wb might make it worst. PS never done wb on a gpu.

Thanks mate. I haven’t found coil whine to be a problem any more than on my 1080ti or 2080tis in other machines. It wasn’t made any louder when adding the water block. EK have recently changed their installation instructions to address the issue so you shouldn’t have any problems.
