Cool list. For some of these bands, I would replace the songs you picked with: 1. Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin 2. All Nightmare Long by Metallica 3. I'm Broken by Pantera 4. Paradise City by Guns n' Roses And I would also add Layla by Eric Clapton which is the riff under the part that everyone knows which you said is more of a lick than a riff.

At 1:43, I didn't knew the Dave Matthews Band made that song called "Satellite" and I didn't knew that title yet when I listened to it in my childhood, even after it was released in 1994 (2 years before I was born). I'm glad you gave me my childhood back with that song. Thank you, Tyler:)

Gel is probably my favourite riff with the way it kicks in suddenly after the intro/chorus, along with it’s very tasteful solo. And their new stuff has some excellent riffs too

Tyler - giving credit to Coheed automatically makes your list better than all the other lists regurgitating the same songs year after year. Coheed's catalog is full of amazing riffs and "Welcome Home" is definitely a gateway to them, so thank you for including it.

Blue Oyster Cult: "Don't Fear the Reaper". One of the coolest and most rewarding riffs to lean early and one of the most iconic and eerie guitar solos ever. Also, Iggy Pop and the Stooges : "Search and Destroy". The riff that kicks a neat infinite amount of ass!!

i think the prechorus riff in tomorrow by silverchair (the part where he goes 'very hard to drink') and the clean guitar solo bit before the first chorus are some of my favourite guitar riffage ever.

My all-time favorite riff is Hey Man Nice Shot by Filter, nobody ever has it on their lists lol. That said, this is a great list. Also your tone on Sunshine of Your Love is insanely close to the original, very cool.

Love that one of my favorite under-appreciated 90s bands, Collective Soul was included here. Also, The Darkness are CRIMINALLY underrated. They are truly a modern day badass two guitar rock band that absolutely shreds.

Time for a challenge... I want to see him play along with some old Roy Clark. There are tons of videos of Roy and Glen Campbell playing, and I'm no guitar player, but they look very technical. It's not all country either, though playing some of that style might be part of the challenge too. Thanks for a great list!

Awesome Video! I have been playing for about 9 months, but i recently had to start focusing on school again. I love guitar and it is honestly one of the greatest energies to experience running through your finger tips. I've just been depressed lately, because i'll probably have to sell my telecaster to pay for school... it's okay though i can always get another guitar :)

Missing Money for Nothing and No One Knows. I’d also say make some room for a Franz Ferdinand riff and a riff from The Strokes. P Diddy’s I need a Girl, Pt. 2 would be in mine as well as Suga Suga by Baby Bash. Other than those not being there you got a solid list.

Yo! Mediterranean sundance! Didnt expect that one! When I was young and wanted to play guitar I got advised to start with classical guitar and thought that was for wimps... Then my uncle showed me that song and have loved it ever since :)

GVF is an example of a good, young rock band. There's such a scarcity of new rock bands these days, that's why it's so important to make bands like Dirty Honey, Mammoth WVH, and Forrester popular. I would even go as far as to say that the riff at the interlude of "Down And Out Of State" by Forrester belongs on this list.

@@Redoubt1989 down and out of state is really easy to play. Plus, Forrester is a better band when it comes to drums than guitar. The drum solo is in down and out of state makes my top 10 drum solos list, but not guitar.

I always liked flying remastered by ufo. The bends on that song are so unique and hard to copy and joe satriani with the emotion behind his songs. Really like the selection you put together on this, had Spotify open the whole time.

Your guitar needs to face forward more, that way the pressure is relieved from your shoulder and you can pick more freely. Also all the extra noise will disappear as the tension from your wrist will lessen and you can pick faster😁
