The first two weeks of may was the best fishing I have ever had. Spinner bait and green pumpkin magic 8 inch lizards.

Is this the one where you were at Heath lake? Me and my brother in law went after bluegill and shell cracker. I had a bass steal a bluegill off my hook on the side of the lake that has the car in it… We only found ONE bluegill bed on the main part of the lake but as we were coming back out we found all the bluegill on that side where the spillway is at… We only caught 2 full blooded shell cracker the whole time and we found some beds in really deep water by the rip rap. They were in about 10 feet of water, I caught a bluegill/shell cracker hybrid over there… That was by far the deepest bluegill beds I’ve ever seen… My brother in law could just barely make out the white spots on the bottom… We didn’t know it was you until we saw your truck… That’s a nice looking rig you got there… I’ve got a kayak myself since then… I haven’t been out in it yet though…

Funny you say that about the white whacky worm, I was catching them super good on a strike king worm that was white on the bottom and then like watermelon on the top, I crushed a ton of dinks on it and lost me a good oe😅

Looking trimmed down and 5 years younger my friend, Video seems a little different then normal but still a great video…. I’ve been off the water for a couple years with a failed back surgery and a second one to right the wrong! ….. With that said I’ve been back on the water the last couple week and really struggling. I haven’t thought about the things you mentioned so thank you! FYI I bought a Cast King reel and actually like it, it’s really smooth little fast for my style of dragging a worm but I’ll get it!

Any tips for muddy water ? Specifically the Savannah and ogecehee river

I tend to have luck with white and or chartreuse chatter bait, or spinner bait with Colorado blade reeled slowly in muddy water. Not dark water, but muddy.

I really dont know how to identify which bait fish are spawning on my lake. I wish I did... The bass have spawned here already. where Im at in south LA . Im pretty sure the bluegill are spawning now, although im not positive. But I have no idea when or how to know if shad are spawning. I just got in actually, caught about 20 small ones today on zoom craw Jr. and not one over 1.5lb.

Same here, I'm in middle Georgia, and I don't know the difference between shad spawn, bluegill, or red herring spawn.. how do we tell the difference, and know when it's going on? (Water temp in my local lakes are 76⁰ (+ or -)

@@johngwilson730 two things I learned about bluegill since I posted this comment, apparently they spawn every full moon, from now, through early fall. Also, on the days that they are spawning, they may be darker in color than usual. I still haven’t learned anything about the shad spawn...
