It's the little tips such as the one about positioning the ball between your feet and taking the step out to the right when setting up for a drive that make all the difference for me. It's difficult for anyone to set the foundations for muscle memory with a swing as complicated at as golf swing; whether they have dyspraxia or not, but I'm so grateful for your videos. Your instructions have made me enjoy learning to play golf so much more, and when I film myself I can see where I'm going wrong as try to make the changes I need. I've even started getting the occasional birdie on the short par 3 holes!

Since I was a little kid learning to golf I was always told to keep my head down and eyes on the ball. It makes so much sense to let my head turn with my body and just keep my eyes on the objective. Can't wait to hit the range and get more comfortable turning in my backswing and follow through.

Wow. Tip 5 really hits home for me. I'm taking this to the range tomorrow. You described my shots pulled left or sliced. I've been recently feeling that my alignment was not right and was doing research on this tonight. Then I stumbled on this video only because I was watching a few others of yours and was curious.

You two are improving my golf game so much. I play with my boss. He has been hitting the ball for the last 10 years. I started late last summer. He is worried I will surpass his ability by the end of the season. Thank you again for all the information I need to build my confidence on the links. Cheers!

Have been watching multiple videos as a beginner and must say this has really helped. Didn't even realise the right shoulder had to be dropped and the spine aligned away. I've been a big slicer and looking for fixes, I know my grip is fine but this really helps. Think I have definitely been stiff in the upper body with too much focus on keeping the head still which limits that rotation. Great video I'll be sure to implement these at the range and see where that gets me!

I pull it right often, so having the ball closer to my front foot gives the club more time to straiten out. Super helpful that you guys covered that, I always thought I needed the ball in the center and that I needed to adjust my swing to make that work.

I struggled with "Mr. Driver" while playing my latest round this past Saturday. I was at the range on Friday and had no problem crushing it but for some reason I got out on the course Saturday morning and sort of fell apart. My biggest struggle alignment to the ball; I tried keeping my weight back and the ball lined up inside my left foot but I had shots where I drove the club into the floor, couldn't get the loft I wanted, or kept hitting off the toe. It was tremendously frustrating. My playing partner gave me the "you're pulling your head up" speech as well but it felt more natural to follow through with my shot that way. I appreciate the tips and will definitely be rewatching this video for help with making some adjustments. Keep up the good work Andy & Piers! Thanks!

Great video. I think that is the #1 mistake I made in the past and continue to see new golfers do. Is hit up on the ball and chunk it. The problem is sometimes even when doing this, you can make an amazing shot still, but not consistently. Hitting down at the ball, with the divot coming just after the ball has to be the #1 most important aspect to figure out. Thanks so much guys!

Excellent review and correction advice. I am a beginning golfer, and i can especially identify with the error with irons, and the last error on setting up. I have been been hitting to the right ( I am a righty) on tee shots, as well as on the fairway. This instruction should help me correct that off the tee, as well as getting a higher launch angle. Thanks guys!

Great tip about following the swing with your head, I've been playing about 3 months and I mostly learn from older guys on the range or course and I hear every day these older men who have been playing their entire lives saying "I looked up on that one." I can safely say if not for that tip I might have continued to make the mistake of keeping a still head over the next 40+ years. Thanks guys!

#5 Ball Position -By far the best demonstration I've seen about how to make the adjustment to the K bump. Nicely done because it explains what is happening to the swing path at address. Point being if you address the ball coming into position from behind the ball, planting your right foot first, your mind's eye thinks the ball is too far forward so you lean in and forward which is a tragic mistake. It's all about perception so by changing your setup at address and that brilliant trick of moving your right hand down your right leg makes the perfect alignment of the K Bump in relationship to the ball position. I will be adapting to this setup. Thank you!!

This has really addressed some of the mental monsters I have when playing as I’m new and have no real idea in my head what is right. I somehow after 20 years of not playing nailed a birdie my first time out and back to back bogeys on a tough course. Needless to say I’m hooked. I agree 100% but the head movement point I feel is only partly true. No you don't want your head totally stationary but you have to keep you eyes on the ball. That concept has been one that I can tell a massive difference in shots when I keep my eyes on the ball vs. when I look up early/too much head movement in the swing.
@meandmygolf.7 жыл бұрын
Hi Corey. We will have to disagree with you on that one. Your eyes don't have to be on the ball. In all the years of coaching, myself and Piers have never seen anyone hit a bad shot from looking up too early. If you film yourself trying to do it, it is very difficult. Have a go.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6OciGdtp895bpI Watch this video - stop it at 46 seconds and tell the whole world where his [the best golfer in the modern game] eyes are AFTER he has hit the ball. Straight down at the tee - where the ball was. I can not for the life of me believe you have never seen a bad shot due to lifting your head. I do it EVERY ROUND. You say it your self about how you can not swing the shoulders and NOT move your head - similarly IF you move your head - you possibly (probably) move your shoulders. If you turn your head BEFORE contact - you are likely to open your shoulders. causing a push. BUT all that is speculation - what is not speculation is I Can show you 12 videos of the worlds top golfers where they ALL are looking straight down AFTER making contact - Of course they are not looking down when there hands get around there necks like you are making out. Here's ricky fowler stop it 4.17. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpTZdKZmerRlisk DJ stop it at 56 seconds. Rory stop it 38 seconds. NONE NONE NONE NONE NONE of them can possibly be follwoing the ball like you suggest. you joked nad laughed at the idea of hitting it and looking up and looking for the ball - I guarantee youevery one of these guys are doing that. Yes Annika looked up early - but would you try and teach the Jim Fyrk swing just cause it works for one guy. Sorry I can not change the ID here - Graham Haslam.

Hi guys, thanks for these very clear instruction videos. Even for someone that doesn't speak English as first language, it's very easy to follow. Keep it up! As always, excellent advice backed-up by clear examples and practical drills. Would be very grateful if you would offer a tip and/or a drill to train the lower body. I've found that I'm getting stuck on my right side (rt handed golfer), specifically my right heal isn't releasing off the ground and I end-up swinging flat-footed. Obviously, this movement or lack thereof is preventing me from properly bumping my lead hip out and shifting weight through the swing. Thanks! (If you have already addressed this issue, I'd appreciate a link ti=o that video, since I cannot locate it. Thanks again!)

Thanks for these tips...on my drives I have really concentrated on staying behind the ball and implementing the "K" body shape but still continue to be hitting down on the ball versus up. Many of my tee shots hit the fairway and either plug or make quite a hole and then don't travel much farther. I'll keep working on the upward motion.
