She was extremely proud of Frank however she wasn’t 100% happy with the production and track list, or how it was marketed. She didn’t try and disown Frank, it’s just that she was past that era in her life and was tired of it, just like she eventually got tired of Back to Black. She was over B2B by 2009 however her record label / manager basically forced her to continue touring those songs in 2011 but she was keen to move onto her next sound / era. She was a true artist and would never be 100% happy with her work, always self critical and wanting to do better. She recorded demos for a reggae album in 2009, however the record label made her scrap those and they wanted her to make another Back to Black. I don’t think Amy would ever be truly happy recreating something she’d already done, just because it sells (they had no idea B2B would be a smash when she recorded it). She once said she’s at least a five trick pony.

Frank is actually my favorite album of hers. It shows Amy’s cheeky humor, her romantic side, the depth of her musical influences, the light and airy side of her personality, etc. I wish we could’ve gotten another album from her that showed that light side of her soul, but she gave us so much in such a short amount of time. I love how Amy was such a true artist and took such pride in her work. We didn’t deserve her 🩷

It is the fact she was about to start drafting it only for her passing a day or two later; she also wanted to go back to jazz again. She seemed on the road to recovery only for her body to give in after everything...Amy was taken from us too soon.

I remember when I was 9 years old and my mom had the Back to Black Cd and played it on repeat and I remember every lyric to every song. This is also the same time where the AMY documentary had came out and I remember being soo crushed when I found out that she had passed away. I love Frank and Black to Black equally. She was a gift and a truly talented artist and it’s a shame that her addictions and her demons overcame her. Idk hiw to feel about her biopic that’s coming out this year, I personally think the 2015 documentary does Amy justice but we’ll have to see. Love your videos Honest!❤️🫶🏾

I wonder if Amy would have revisited 'Frank' later in her life and 'Reimagined' the music to suit her original or updated Vision for her lyrics. There would have been so many possibilities and Music to enjoy. p.s 'F**k Me Pumps' Is my JAM! Listen to it, you'll love it!

I love Amy! I keenly remember listening to Love is a Losing Game for hours on the drive home from seeing my grandfather for the last time time before his passing. It was sad, but healing. Anywho, I like the demo/remixes version of Frank. It includes a Fool's Gold and a demo of Someone to Watch Over Me. Sooo good--jazzy, moody, and sultry...all in one!

Back to Black was her gift to the world and her magnum opus, but I prefer Frank because it’s a lot more intimate, and it has a lot more of her own touches in the production. It was also one of the very first albums I immersed myself in and truly experienced as a whole. RIP to a beautiful, broken soul 🤍🕊️

I am so blessed that I got to see Amy perform live 3 times here in NYC before alll the drinking and stuff got out of hand..the first time was at Joes Pub..it was a music industry only showcase (I worked in radio back then) and it was her first time in the states..she did a short set like 15 mins..this was when “you know I’m no good” first dropped and had the remix w Ghostface Killah and one w Jayz..she sounded amazing..I saw her at the high line ballroom and I believe she performed You Sent me flying or Know You Now..I forget which one but it was iconic…I wish I could’ve seen her perform “In my bed” I think I would’ve cried..I still have my stub from Joes Pub as a memory..her death hurt ..her music got me thru some situations..I wish she was here now..I know she would’ve done some amazing things

My favorite song from Frank is Stronger Than Me. When I first saw the title, I was confused because Amy Winehouse released only two albums and initially thought her album was one of her posthumous ones. I hope her biopic coming out in 3 months will be good because I don't want it to be the next Blonde.

I love the Frank album. It doesn’t have the same raw emotion as back to black but it shows her fun cheeky side. F*ck me pumps is a top 5 favorite song of mine because it’s fun and silly but a genuinely good song about those vain girls who use their looks to get ahead in life and nothing else. I think when you hear both albums you get her duality.

I remember Amy Winehouse, she used to hang out the Good Mixer Pub and Hawley Arms in Camden, London. I remember a friend would call me out to come out, Amy is play pool in the Good Mixer. Very sad when she died. What was also upsetting, a lot of her unreleased tracks stored in her home were stolen. They will never see the light of day, unless somebody comes forward with the recordings.

I'd say it was a mix of a variety of situations. There was all the things you said in the video, but also the fact that, from the moment she met Blake, she let him influence her completely and almost became another person. She was craving for affection and would do everything to earn it. So maybe people around her (like Blake) didn't appreciate her Frank era, bashed it, she took it as the absolute truth and tried to walk away from it.
